What Retinol Can Do for Eyes

Well, winter is here. (Tuesday was the coldest November 12th on record in Chicago! Brrrr.) And whenever winter rolls around and I start spending more time inside, I find myself experimenting with new beauty products.

I’ll be honest and say I’m kind of bumming right now in that department. I thought I was going to avoid postpartum hair loss this time around, but despite my best efforts, my locks started falling out in clumps a few weeks ago. It’s totally okay! Hair loss is obviously completely worth it; it’s a small price to pay for my Lucy Girl. ☺️ But you know. It’s a bit of an unsettling thing.

I have an appointment to chop my hair soon, but Olay’s Retionol24 products have really been upping my confidence lately as well. Olay’s Retinol24 Eye Cream, specifically, has done wonders! I’d say that my number one “beauty complaint” is that I always seem to look tired. Sure, there are lots of times when I am tired, and therefore it’s warranted. 😜 But there are other times when I’m well-rested, and then I’m like, “HEY.” 😡

Olay’s Retinol24 Eye Cream combats that, though. Retinol, a form of Vitamin A, is proven to brighten, smooth and fade signs of damage–and it works by encouraging skin cells to turn over faster than they normally would. (In essence, new skin!) But what sets Olay’s Retinol24 line apart is that A) it’s affordable, and B) its non-greasy formula doesn’t contain any fillers, fragrances or dyes… which means that it’s safe to use every night without the risk of irritation. (Even if you have sensitive skin!) It also continues working and provides hydration for up to 24 hours.

While I definitely noticed a difference after only a night of use, the change was most noticeable around week three. The skin around my eyes–normally darkened and creased–looked brighter, more even, and less wrinkly. ;) Because of this, I no longer needed to wear as much foundation. My skin was also far less dry than it normally was!

I think my favorite part about Olay’s Retinol24 products is that they give you the gift of time. Around 4 or 5 p.m., I used to get the urge to wash my face because my skin would look dull. But now I have more of a dewey and just-washed look around the clock… without the time investment! :)
