Ugg Classic Short Boots (Also have the Classic Mini Boots for wearing around the house, and my eye is on these leopard lace-up Ugg boots.) Girls’ Ugg Classic Short Waterproof Boots (These shimmery Uggs are really adorable as well!) / Christmas Sweater / Chateau Coat (Adult version of the Cocoon Coat here!) / Corduroy Leggings / Faux Leather Tote
Do you guys remember last year when I put up this blog post about whether Uggs were making a comeback? First of all, I don’t think they ever left. Second, I now can’t imagine my life in Chicago without them! Seriously: such a lifesaver. I also can’t fathom bringing my kids outside without their Uggs on!
So, while sharing some festive snaps from the Christmas tree at Water Tower Place in Chicago, let me tell you about our all-time favorites:
Larkin favorites
It goes without saying, but we buy all our Ugg boots from Nordstrom! The selection is amazing, the boots ship incredibly quickly, and the customer service is phenomenal. I also so appreciate the plethora of customer reviews. Because of how thorough they tend to be, I almost always get my sizing right. Saves me time and headaches! ;)
Ugg Classic Short Boots: These are my #1, and the shoes I wear the most during the colder seasons now. Chicago is freezing; there’s really no way around that. And as someone who suffers from Raynaud’s Disease, I can feel downright miserable after only a few minutes outside in January. These boots truly changed everything for me, though, and my feet have never been cold—even in negative-degree temps—when they’re in ’em! Highly, highly recommend. It’s a lifestyle choice, honestly!
Classic Mini Boots: I found myself feeling sad that I couldn’t keep my Uggs on my feet at all times, haha, so I got myself a pair of even shorter Uggs to wear around the house. I felt a little silly at the time, but as someone who works from home even during non-pandemic times, I needed them. ;) They’re on my feet as I type this!
Kids’ Ugg Classic Short Waterproof Boots: I made the mistake of buying Emma non-waterproof shearling boots when she was little, and ugh. There was a day at school when she had freezing wet feet all day and never once complained or told anyone about it. 😭 My heart still hurts thinking about it! After that, I bought her the waterproof Uggs… and never again. These things not only keep kids’ feet totally dry and super toasty, they also somehow never get dirty. The best part, though, is that they’re totally unisex and can be passed down from one kid to the next. Size up so you can get a few years’ wear out of them! (Emma wears a size 10 right now yet she’s wearing a size 13 here. Lucy is wearing Emma’s hand-me-downs.)
Cozy Knit Slippers: I’m sure you’ve seen me in these a few times this year, but they’re so lovely. The bottoms are actually robust enough that you can totally wear them outside of the house, too. I walked Noodle in mine through the entire fall! And I’ve been known to play field hockey with Emma in them as well. 😆 Bottom line: Anyone would love these; they’re like wearing knit sweaters on your feet! Fantastic gift.

Leopard Lace-Up Boots: I’m here for these. I LOVE leopard shoes but don’t often get to wear them in the dead of the winter because they’re just not warm enough in Chicago. Leopard Uggs, though?! They solve all my probs! I love these. Hoping that Ugg makes them in a wedge form in the future, too… because those would be great for date night. (In the future.)
Over-the-Knee Boots: THOUGHTS? So I’m really into them. I do love them in the chestnut color, but the black looks like I’d be able to pass them off as fancier footwear—and that’s really what I need most for Chicago winters. I struggle so much when dressing up November through April (sometimes even May!) because of the cold, and perhaps these would allow me to wear sweater dresses (with sweater tights, of course).
Kids’ Shimmery Boots: So cute! Emma had a pair of sparkly Uggs last year but she sadly outgrew them. Those will go to Lucy, but I’m definitely eyeing these as a replacement pair!
Adirondack Waterproof Boots: These scream warmth! They also come in a shorter version.
Tasman Slippers: I had these in college and love that they’re still around! Fun story: an ex-boyfriend gave them to me and I gave them away when we broke up. 🙈 But they were fabulous! Haha. (Do we think Mitch will see this paragraph? Probably not; it’s fine. 😆)
