Over the last few years, I’ve noticed myself majorly shift my shopping habits. I stopped buying statement pieces and started adding more basics to my closet. Simplicity (and neutrals) for the win! Getting dressed in the morning has become easier, and I get more wear out of each piece. Right now, I’m gravitating towards solid neutrals for fall like white, camel, and olive green, with an occasional plaid print here and there. With the craziness of the holidays approaching, I’m all about simplicity this season—in all areas of life. These are some November basics I love.

Sweater-Dress: Long-sleeve sweater dresses are my jam for November. Pair it with a pair of tall brown boots, layer a scarf, and you’re good to go. This would also be a great outfit to wear for Thanksgiving.

Tall Brown Boots: These are my favorite riding boots of all time. *Sizing note: go up half a size so you can wear them with thicker socks.

Leather Loafers: These loafers make any outfit look polished. I recently styled them with a pair of leather leggings, a white button-up underneath a jean jacket, and a brown leather tote.

Fair Isle Sweater: I can’t help but swoon over this sweater. During the pandemic, I decided to re-home things in my closet that were uncomfortable. Which meant I said goodbye to most of my itchy wool sweaters, including many fair isle sweaters. However, this cashmere one is so comfy!

Ribbed Turtleneck Sweater: Turtlenecks are a must-have basic. They are great for layering as the weather starts to get colder. And this style comes in many different colors.

Cable Turtleneck Sweater: Such a cozy style—it’s like wearing a blanket.

Puff-Sleeve Mock Neck Sweater: Love those puff sleeves. I have a feeling you’ll get a lot of wear out of this cashmere sweater.

Brown Leather ToteThis is the tote of the year. The leather is substantial but soft, and it holds everything the girls and I could possibly need. I’m a big fan of the exterior and interior pockets, too!

Demi-Boot Jeans: These jeans are such a wonderful pair of soft/stretchy denim! They’re also a great alternative to skinny jeans, and they look so cute styled with booties too!

Shearling-Lined Bean Boots: Bring on the warmth! These Bean Boots are one of my favorites and one of your most-loved products. They’re also shearling-lined, which is a gal’s best friend here in Chicago.

Quilted Jacket: I’m obsessed with this quilted coat. It’s ridiculously cozy, and the gold hardware makes it look very polished. I love the slim fit and high collar. Best of all, it can be worn from season to season, either by itself or layered with something else.

Plaid Topcoat: I have been wearing this plaid topcoat on repeat recently—such a great piece for fall.
