Guys, the moment has arrived. The Lilly Pulitzer for Target line is here! Eeee!
Not surprisingly, the site is experiencing some technical difficulties. Best of luck to everyone trying to get it to load!
More soon.
Update: I failed, haha. Fell asleep shortly after posting this, and never set an alarm. But not heartbroken! There are always the “After Party” sales… ;)
This is a case of ridiculous luck, but I got 3 shifts online and 2 in a store. Almost embarrassed but I have so many weddings, showers, and celebrations to attend this summer that even with 5 I know I’ll be rewearing and rewearing them. (Heck, I’m thisclose to wearing one to class tomorrow just because!)
I know that everyone didn’t end up as lucky as I did, but I thought this was so much fun! Big shoutout to Target and Lilly and YOU for the heads up via Twitter!

Kelly,
That’s amazing! Congrats, my friend! :) Such an exciting collaboration.
I actually didn’t score anything, hahaha. I fell asleep shortly after I posted–while the site was experiencing technical difficulties–and opted for sleeping in over visiting the store. (Such a bum.) But it’s okay! I ended up with a few dresses from the “After Party Sale” this past January… so I’m all set for the summer’s upcoming events. :)
I hope you post photos of you in your dresses this season… I’m SO excited to see everyone in them! They look adorable!! :)
xoxo!
Lucky you Kelly! I was locked out of online ordering for women’s clothing (at 4AM), but was able to order things for my 2 yo daughter.
I went to a store at 7:15 and was the 10th person in line. I was trying to be “aggressive but polite” and ended up with 2 shifts (fan dance & upstream — one is a size to big, but it can easily be taken in). I knew that it would be crazy but was not prepared for the full blown insanity! I couldn’t even tell you what bags/scarves/shoes this particular store had because they were GONE in under a minute — not at all exaggerating.
I also got a pair of shorts (upstream). These are cute, but definitely fall into “loungewear” category — the material is thin & pajama-like.
The other sections of the store were less crazy — although some people were clearly there for the home stuff and made a beeline there because all the pillows were gone by the time I made my way over.
The dressing rooms were like a fire sale — people would shout out the sizes of their castoffs and people would literally scream for them.
The funniest part was an older man who just happened to show up at 8:05 and was looking around mystified asking what everyone was trying to buy. When someone explained, he walked over and picked up a cosmetic case saying that he should probably get one for his granddaughter “just in case”.
I think that the snobbish fools out there who lamented the “downgrading” of Lilly couldn’t be more wrong. This stuff was clearly hunted & coveted and will probably have more cachet when seen on the streets than regular Lilly– “Ohhhhh! You got a Fan Dance sheath?? Lucky you!”
SO interesting to hear this, Skylar! Oh my goodness. I never made it to the store–or the site while there was anything left in stock–but that sounds CRAZY. Everything gone within a minute?! Haha. Wow. Definitely didn’t think it would be that chaotic!
And the story about the older man? Hysterical!
I completely agree with you about the brand’s decision to partner with Target. Lilly herself was about spreading as much happiness as possible! I think some people just have a liiiiittle too much time on their hands. ;)
OMG this is almost my same experience! You’ll love this post because it’s totally what you’re talking about! http://bit.ly/1F1zDzB
That is so hilarious! Yes — many of those thoughts occurred to me — including Supermarket Sweep!
Yeah I feel like it’s rarer than regular Lilly. (Of course, I think it’s ridiculous that some of these things are selling on ebay for twice the price of a regular dress, or more.) I didn’t manage to get anything from Target but my budget was the price of a regular Lilly dress or two so I’ll just go to a non Target store and buy one. And maybe some shorts haha.
I got to my store before it opened this morning! My boyfriend came with and I showed him the items I wanted and in what sizes. I was able to snag one of the three items (the one I wanted most, thank goodness). Even being ~20th in line wasn’t good enough because people were grabbing literally everything. We wandered back to housewares and I grabbed the pineapple dish since I couldn’t resist, and then we walked back to the clothes to see if anything had been restocked and an employee was holding the upstream shorts I wanted in my size (!) so I ended up getting two of the three things on my list. (I wanted the shift in the upstream print, but it was long gone and I’m not sure shifts work all that well on my body anyway.)
The biggest problem was that my Target only had one size each in each item, which was just ridiculous. I was very lucky to snag the top I wanted; I kind of grabbed it from the side before anyone else could. Haha. Oh and I saw some people LOADING their carts up to presumably sell on eBay. I wish the employees had prevented that. :( I feel terrible for people who wanted something and eBay sellers bought it all before them just to sell at a higher price. I really hope they aren’t able to make any profit, though unfortunately it looks like some items have bids.
Anyway, did you get anything?! :)

Hi Kimi!
Congrats on the scores! So exciting!
How cute is your boyfriend for coming along and helping? That’s adorable. :)
Also–one size for each item?! What?! Why?! I wonder whether the stores plan on restocking. That would be quite the pleasant surprise!
Very sad about the eBay situation; I agree. That’s certainly not what this collaboration was about. Hopefully it’s just a few rotten eggs!
I didn’t end up with anything, but I don’t think I realized just how chaotic the whole thing would be. Totally should have anticipated it! Not sad, though. Let’s be serious. I have too much clothing, haha!
Oof. I made the mistake of trying online last night. I did end up being able to grab a bathing suit, now I just have to hope it fits! I am going to check out a Target in a more rural town tomorrow and see if anything was left behind :)

Yay! Congrats. Fingers crossed!
I thought the stores in Chicago would still have stuff in stock later in the day since the Midwest isn’t quite as preppy as the East Coast or the South. BOY, WAS I WRONG, haha!
Such a great idea about visiting the Target in the less populated area, though! :) Good luck!
xoxo!
I wasn’t able to order anything online, but I was able to snag the upstream shorts, upstream scarf, and crochet tank top that I wanted in store (being 5th in line by arriving at 6:45AM helped). I really was surprised to see the Houston stores selling out so quickly. I feel like most Houstonian women aren’t typically big Lilly fans, but they had no problem grabbing anything and everything within mere minutes of the doors opening!
I wrote a great satire on my blog about this experience. All of it happened to me, and by the response I’m assuming it happened to everyone else! I think you’ll get a kick out of it! Also was able to snag a few pieces I really wanted, but the Kimono I wanted is currently being resold on eBay for 5 times the price, so that probably won’t ever happen…

Do not even get me started on this sale!
Didn’t get to a store but for whatever reason I woke up at 6:30 (yay insomnia!) and was able to purchase the strapless jumpsuit in Upstream! I bought two sizes unsure of the fit so I will have an extra soon :-)
Do not even get me started on this sale!
