Gah! Okay, so I know I’ve been a little MIA lately.
But as you might have gathered from this recent post and all my talk about chronic sinus infections (and perhaps my voice on Instagram Stories), slowing down has been a must as of late. Over the last couple of weeks, I’ve been going to bed early, resting, and taking it easy in general. While I won’t say I’m 100 percent, I’m getting better… and I’m just glad that I’m doing everything the doctor ordered! Special thanks to Mitch and Cassandra (here’s her first post!) for keeping the blog afloat in the meantime. :)
I wanted to pop in quickly today, though, to share some easy and comfy-cozy outfits that the Larkins recently wore on an outing to the Lincoln Park Zoo. We’re all in Patagonia from Nordstrom, which is, in my opinion, the best place to buy it, as shipping and returns are free… and the customer service is out of this world.
Patagonia sizing can be a bit tricky, so I’ve included some advice below!
Kelly’s Radalie Parka
I can’t tell you how many questions I’ve received about this waterproof parka. It’s great. It’s far more lightweight and way less puffy than my other puffer jackets, and because of that, I don’t feel like a crazy person wearing it during the fall. ;) Temps dipped into the low 50s the other day when these pics were taken, and I was freezing. The Radalie did the trick, though! It certainly isn’t a parka that I’ll be able to wear throughout Chicago winters, but I think it would be fine for temperatures between 30 and 60 degrees. (It features Thermogreen insulation, which allows for extra warmth!) Again, it’s lightweight, so it doesn’t make me feel like a marshmallow.
In terms of sizing, I would say that the Radalie runs small. I went up one size, and it fits great with non-bulky tops and sweaters underneath. Want to wear it with chunkier knits? You might want to consider going two sizes up!
It also comes in navy, btw.
Mitch’s Snap-T Quilted Pullover
I love this on Mitch! He usually wears the classic quarter-zip, which I also own in the women’s version. But I recently ordered him this pullover and I’m so glad I did. The quilted design screams fall, and I love the contrast of gray and navy!
For sizing, we’d say that it runs a little big. Mitch was kind of swimming in his usual size, so he went down one and it looked a lot more flattering. :)
Emma’s Quarter-Zip Pullover
This pullover is obviously too big on Emma, but she grows out of her stuff SO quickly. For now, we’re simply cuffing the sleeves, and we love that we’ll likely get two to three years’ wear out of the pullover! We do this for anything that’s an investment. I think the girls’ oversized sweatshirt is adorable with jeggings, anyway. :) At some point, we’re obviously going to need to take a pic of all of us in our quarter-zips. This is the women’s version (order one size up!) and this is the men’s!
