Spring has finally arrived in Chicago. We’re not dealing with 70-degree temps like we did on that freak day a couple of a weeks ago, but the 50s are sittin’ pretty fine with me. Eeee! I really can’t get over that I’m wearing only a light coat in these photos. Happiness.
But yes; let’s back up to the coat. It’s Barbour’s “Trevose” Raincoat, and I’m obsessed. As you can see, I’ve taken to wearing it even when it’s not raining. But it’s spring, so it could rain at any time, right? (So prepared.) It’s also not a black puffer coat. Huzzah! I love its cheery color and that it’s exceptionally warm considering it’s a raincoat, too. (As mentioned in yesterday’s post.)
Sizing advice: the coat runs pretty true-to-size, considering Barbour typically runs small. I’m wearing my usual U.K. size 8/U.S. size 4, and while it’s generous, I’m certainly not swimming in it. (It doesn’t come any smaller, in case you’re wondering.) For reference, I usually wear a size XS, 0 or 25 in J.Crew.
If you live nowhere near Barbour’s Lincoln Park location, you can place your order over the phone (773-360-7926). The Trevose Raincoat is also available at Tuckernuck, Bloomingdales (25 percent off with code “FRIENDS”), Tuckernuck (in navy) and Nordstrom.
Also, can we just talk about Noodle’s cuteness for a moment? Girlfriend freaks out when the subway comes by, and it runs right through our neighborhood. She feels so much more secure, though, when she’s nestled in a tote bag… and the Portisday Everyday Shopper is her new favorite “home” for when she’s feeling a bit uneasy about those pesky trains. I pack it with a towel so she can comfortably look out (#shortlegs), and she’s good to go!
