Happy October!

Two products I’m in loving more than ever this year:

Patagonia Nano Puff Jacket (Longer version here)

I wear the Nano Puff jacket year-round. It’s perfect for spring and fall, for errands during the winter (when I’m running to and from the car), and for colder summer nights. It’s almost always in my suitcase when I travel, too. My favorite is the white, but there are a LOT of colors to choose from. The navy, black, gray or olive would be extremely versatile, too!

Things worth noting:

  • In general, Patagonia runs on the smaller side. I almost always go one size up with the brand’s products, and that was the case with the Nano Puff. I’m wearing the size small in these photos, and it’s perfect. (Couldn’t move my shoulders as easily in the XS, and thicker sweaters didn’t work.
  • It’s very lightweight but also very warm. It’s nuts. Again, I’m always cold, but this thing packs a punch and blocks out the wind like whoa. I love wearing it during the chillier months when I’m working outdoors on the house; it provides a lot of warmth but I don’t overheat in it.
  • It’s crazy packable. You can smush it and punch it into tiny spaces. It also doubles as a pillow for children when you’re desperate. ;)
  • There’s a longer version, too. It’s just as good. The white is a bit more muted, but it’s very pretty!

Obsessed. Did you have these in high school/college? I’m dating myself, but I lived in mine. 😆 In high school, I used to get two detentions—one for each foot—when I wore them, since they weren’t allowed per the uniform rules. (I swept the lunch room nearly every day. Worth it.) But in college, woo-ee. It was my time to shine. I made up my own uniform, and it consisted of jeans/corduroys, crewneck sweaters and my beloved Birkenstock clogs.

And they’re back! Okay, they never left. ;) But I’m all in once again, and I’ll never let go. 😜 I own the Boston clogs in the dark brown and cognac colors 🙈, and both pairs get a ton of use. I adore the cognac ones, but I wear the dark brown a lot more as I don’t have to worry about staining with them. (I am, however, going to Scotch Guard both pairs to prolong their lifespans.)

Things worth noting:

  • It’s important to pay attention to sizing. I’m normally a size 7.5 in flats, but I take Birkenstocks in a size 37, which Birkenstock says is a women’s size 6-6.5.
  • If you want to wear THICK socks with them, you might consider sticking with your normal size. For example, camp socks or Barefoot Dreams socks could bump you up. Instead, though, you could go with these Birkenstock socks, which aren’t as thick yet still very warm. (And yes, I think Birkenstock clogs—not sandals—are super cute with socks!)
  • That said, they keep feet toasty even without socks. I struggle with cold toes with most shoes when not wearing socks, but the Birkenstock clogs are an exception. Of course, it’ll be sock time come November… but for now, none needed.
