Today, I’m teaming up with Shopbop and Social Root to feature a new pair of sunglasses from Wildfox. (And no, I’m not sure I’ve ever switched up my eyewear on the blog, so this is big, haha.) Social Root is this cool new project that helps companies find bloggers who are influential in specific segments like sunglasses, denim and bags. I’m not sure how I was identified as a “digital influencer”–perhaps because I wear the same pair in nearly every post? ;)–but I’m so glad I was found! Because I had a blast with this post. What do you think about my new “Catfarer” shades?! If you haven’t hear of Wildfox yet, it’s an LA-based brand that came about in 2007. You can see the rest of the eyewear here, and how cute is this striped sweatshirt?!

But back to life!
My apologies for the radio silence this morning, but things have been pretty rough over here in blogland. Did I just say that? Sorry. ;)
Up until yesterday, Kelly in the City was apparently hosted some ancient shared server, which I now understand is why my site went down from time to time. It’s been a confusing and frustrating 24 hours, but a big part of me is super proud that I now have a better understanding of web hosting, DNS, migrating content over to new platforms, and why it’s so important to back up your site. I know that everything here looks the same, but believe me when I say it was one big disaster for a while. ;)
I owe one particular GoDaddy employee a big thank you for essentially giving me a crash course on all the technical stuff. A couple of years ago, I knew quite literally nothing about blogging or how to maintain a website… and I really can’t get over how much I’ve learned since then. And it’s all because of friends (Shawn! Holler!), other bloggers (too many to name!), and a kind employee at GoDaddy. Of course, I have a long way to go, and I’ll probably never be an expert. But gaining new skills in any field is empowering, so today, I’m reveling in it!
Oh–and as I’ve mentioned before, I’m a big believer in the concept of “Pay it Forward.” So if you have a question or have been stumped about something blog-related for some time, please reach out. I can’t promise I’ll have the answer, but I’d love to help in any way possible!
