Ah, Day #94785.

Today was dark, dreary, wet and cold. It’s been dark, dreary, wet and cold a LOT lately in Chicago, yet the iPhone continues to promise sunnier and warmer days ahead. At this point, it’s become a joke between Mitch and me. He complains, I show him the weather app, and we laugh. The weather app is terrible. Mitch recommends “Dark Sky,” which is apparently far more reliable. 😉

Anywho!

I think I’ve explained this on the blog before, though all the days just kind of blend together at this point so who knows. 🤪 But my friend Carly and I are doing this weekly (very simple) outfit challenges to make ourselves feel a bit more human, and this week’s is chambray + animal print. Feel free to join in on the fun! It’s easy and it makes a big impact on disposition.

Are you having a tough week? I am. I obviously feel VERY grateful and truly do try my best to maintain perspective, but… you know. Struggling. Anxious about everything; bummed that I can’t seem to do it all when everyone else seems so on top of things at this point in the quarantine; always incredibly short on time; and behind, behind, behind. Oof. Where’s that sunshine when you need it?! But I should note that I’m writing this at night, and that’s when I normally feel the most overwhelmed. Mornings are so much better for me!

I digress.

Totally switching topics, haha, one thing I have been kind of on top of is organizing the girls’ stuff. So that’s something! I went through everything that Lucy had grown out of and donated it, and then I went through all of Emma’s old clothing and figured out what would fit Lucy. (Emma was born in August and Lucy was born in May, so there’s a bit of a seasonal sizing issue… but some things definitely work!) One thing that did was the little chambray dress you see in these photos. 😭 And seeing Lucy in it made my day. It brought me back to that happy time when Emma was teeny (and when I was overwhelmed as a new mom 😉), and also made me appreciate the happiness of this time. Because there’s so much happiness right now, despite everything else.

Lucy, you are pure joy… and we adore you so much!

Okay, sorry. It’s 1 a.m. and I’m not even making sense at this point and I should just go to bed. ;)

See you back here tomorrow!
