The Chicago Public Schools system is closed today, guys. I know that I’m not teaching this year, but the happiness I feel for Mitch is overwhelming, haha. The New York City Department of Education almost never shut down… and from what I hear, it’s a pretty rare thing for Chicago, too. SO THIS IS THE BEST! :)
We got the news around 6:30 last night. We jumped up and down, screamed a little, and then went out to celebrate. We hit up Trellis for its Tuesday night pizza special and Derby–which was packed with happy teachers–for its overall fabulousness. What a fun night! So please excuse me while I take the morning off. ;)
Sadly, I’m not sure whether we’ll be able to enjoy this snow day outside, like we did this time. (We did actually have a snow day, and it was magical! See some photos from that day below, and read about my reaction to the news here.) The projected low is a scary -6 degrees, after all, and we need to be safe… especially with little Noodle.
Anyway, time for some coffee and a movie! Happy snow day! Stay warm and safe, Chicagoans! :)
P.S. — The Lilly Pulitzer After Party Sale is over, but have you seen the brand’s new arrivals?! Cuteness! (Think warm thoughts, think warm thoughts…)
Vineyard Vines Navy Puffer Jacket (Old, similar here and here) / J.Crew Camp Socks (Buy them. They’re the best socks I own. I know. The price tag is ridiculous. But they’re worth it.) / L.L. Bean Boots (Other colors here; alternative) / Anthropologie Fleece-Lined Leggings (Again: SO WONDERFUL. Just don’t sleep in them. They attract lint like crazy.) / Kate Spade Tote / C.Wonder Gloves (Old, newer style here) / Cuyana Scarf (c/o)
