This past week, Mitch and I drove to the new Wayfair store in Wilmette, just outside of Chicago. It was a super short drive, and so worth it. Guys, the store is phenomenal.

Honestly, it was like nothing I’ve ever seen before! So much effort was put into every decision, and the staff is ridiculously kind and helpful. (Without being overbearing!)

So today I want to share the experience with you—and show you all the gems I found. Because even if you don’t live near Chicago, you can still shop everything you see in my posts via the Wayfair site. Fast and free shipping, too!

The Wayfair store is truly like wandering through a catalogue that comes to life; I was so inspired and got so many ideas for our home while I was there. I mean, the first thing I saw when I walked in was the above hydrangea room. Can you even?!

Cafe

First of all, there’s a cafe. And you can wander the store with a coffee or even a glass of wine! Hello, Mom’s Night Out anyone? (It was the morning, though, so I did go for coffee, haha.)

Design Studio

After the cafe, we set out to explore the Design Studio, where you’re greeted by Wayfair experts who will make all your living room and custom upholstery dreams come true. There were so many fabric options, and I found myself dreaming of all the possibilities for our own home!

Living rooms

From there, we visited the living room department, I finally got to sit on some Wayfair sofas that I’ve been eyeing. Let me tell you: I couldn’t get over each couch’s comfort, craftsmanship and price tag. The decor and attention to detail in each room was incredible, too. I found myself thinking, “Oh, this is very so-and-so!” and “Oh, this one’s ME!” Really fantastic how the design team makes sure to feature varying personal styles—and how they show depth when mixing them together! I’m a sucker for traditional style, for example, but the rooms I truly love are traditional ones with modern and industrial touches. And Wayfair definitely gets that.

Dining rooms

Dining rooms were next. Wayfair has a very talented team of designers there too, and they’re ready to help you make your vision come to life and create a space you love.  This section was really helpful to see because we’ve been considering getting a new dining table, as our current one is just too big and showing a LOT of signs of wear. My favorite pieces were this arched hutch, drum light fixture, leather bench, slipcovered dining chairs, and marble table.

Bedrooms

Let’s head over to bedrooms now. I loved the Dream Center, where you can test out mattresses, and the bedrooms themselves obviously didn’t disappoint. I was very excited to see the Jenny Lind Benbrook collection in person; I’ve been looking at it online for so long and it’s just as good as I thought it would be! I also really enjoyed seeing how Wayfair designers made the rooms functional yet calming—don’t you just want to curl up and read a book in these spaces?!
I’m actually helping my parents renovate their bedroom right now, and they’re furnishing their retirement home down on 30A. So tons of fabulous ideas were picked up in this department! And while I’m obviously showing you a ton of beautiful adult bedrooms, don’t think that Wayfair forgot about nurseries and kids’ rooms. We didn’t spend too much time in the nurseries, but loved seeing the kiddos’ setups. The girls would’ve died if they’d seen those bunkbeds!

Bathrooms and kitchens

My jaw was on the floor when we visited the bathrooms, kitchens and laundry rooms. So stunning. Do I need a green bathroom in my life? I think the answer is yes. I also finally found the perfect vanity for Lucy’s bathroom while there, and can’t wait to have functional storage space for her! Oh, and did you know that Wayfair offers custom cabinetry?! Just get a load of the dream kitchens we saw. From bold greens with black hardware to porcelain blue shiplapped walls and muted white cabinetry, no detail was missed.

Wallpaper and flooring

And you know I was freaking out when we walked into the wallpaper, tile and flooring department. From traditional to peel-and-stick, they really had everything… and I loved seeing the self-adhesive zellige tiles we ordered from Wayfair for our garage makeover!

Art, lighting and outdoor

Perusing the art section was so much fun, especially when we stumbled upon all the Chicago pieces! Very special. How about that shot taken from our favorite bike path along the lakefront! And lighting. I miiiight regret walking through this section because I’m a self-admitted lighting hoarder… but, like, LOOK HOW BEAUTIFUL. Oh, and we stopped by outdoor furniture, too. I think I need that faux boxwood wall!

Decor

We ended our trip with decor. There was so much in stock, and I was thrilled to see all the seasonal products had arrived! This definitely got me in fall mode, to say the least. I picked up a pumpkin candle which smelled amazing, and Mitch accidentally smashed another small candle. Yes, that was live audio of the event, and we’re sorry, Wayfair. I hope you accept these videos as our apology, haha. Another amazing find in the decor section: dried hydrangeas in beautiful yellows and oranges, to be styled with a favorite Wayfair vase upon arrival home.
WHAT A TRIP. If you don’t live near Chicago, though, don’t worry. All the products you’ve seen today are available online, too, AND they ship fast and free. Can’t beat that, right?!
Thanks for coming along with me on this little tour; I hope you make it here to check it out for yourself in the near future! :)
