J.Crew’s sale section is currently an extra 50% off, and when I was scrolling through it, I saw that there’s actually a ton of transitional pieces up for grabs—that still have a LOT of sizes in stock. V-Neck Cotton Blend Cardigan Sweater: A good cardigan is just the best. This one is made out of 90% cotton and 10% cashmere, so it’s a little bit more cozy and there’s NO ITCH.
Pointelle Short Sleeve T-Shirt: Own and love this! You can wear it with pretty much anything. I find that ribbed pieces typically run small, so I recommend sizing up.
9″ Demi-Boot Crop Jean: My friend Carly owns these in like, a million colors. They’re super flattering and a great in-between cut if you want to branch out from skinny and straight jeans.
10″ Demi-Boot Crop Jean: These are the same jeans as above, but they have a one inch higher rise. Sure, you could follow the “no white after Labor Day” rule—but at this price, why would you?!
Dylan Buckle Block-Heel Sandals: If you’re looking for a new pair of fancy sandals, these look promising! The functional buckles ensure a perfect fit and the heel is chunky enough to actually be comfy.
Giselle Sweater-Blazer: I’m actually shocked there’s still so much stock in this. In both the ivory and the black! This is the kind of sweater you’ll wear for a decade and never get tired of.
Vintage Rib Wide Strap Tank Top: This is the cheapest find from the sale, and the most versatile! The cost-per-use will be basically nothing. It’s a great basic you can lounge in or layer over.

Pointelle V-Neck Cardigan: You know how I feel about cardigans—I love them. The lace makes it a touch more fancy than others. It looks cropped, so I’d wear it with something high-waisted!
Caspia Dress: The best part about the brown trend is that you can wear a bunch of your spring and summer clothes into fall! I’d wear this $40 (!!) maxi dress with a sweater and a pair of boots, and then pull it out again next year when the weather warms up.
Smock-Neck Puff-Sleeve Top: Putting on a white blouse is one of the easiest ways to feel polished. Poplin is such a crisp, lightweight fabric, and the puff sleeves and smocking are absolutely adorable.
Vintage Rib Ruffle Boatneck Tank Top: This shirt has AMAZING reviews, and at $16, there’s really no reason to not scoop it up. It’s technically a tank top, but I think it’s easy to wear as it gets cooler by layering a sweater or jacket on top.
Evelyn Buckle-Strap Sandal Heels: Another pair of heeled sandals, because I can’t help myself. These are SO CUTE.
Perfect-Fit Elbow-Sleeve T-Shirt: Is this not preppy perfection?! It’s such a classic striped shirt and I think the gold buttons make it feel a little more dressy.
