I’m beyond excited about Easter this year. You may have seen this on my Insta Stories, but my Maid of Honor (and cousin) recently finished up chemotherapy. I’m so proud of her. It was an emotional and trying year to say the least, but her upbeat attitude, strength and courage throughout it all was nothing short of admirable and inspiring. She’s honestly changed the way I live my life! Anyway, she’s doing great, and I tear up every time I think about just how lucky our family is. (Consider donating to the cause here. Many, many thanks!)
To celebrate, we had a big party in New York last week–called “Swigs & Wigs,” to which we all wore wigs!–and it was one of the most heartwarming things I’ve ever experienced. The whole family decided, though, that we’re in need more togetherness, so we’re all headed to my parents’ Shore house for a long weekend over Easter. :) I can’t wait.
My favorite part about Easter is just that: the togetherness. My family is spread out all over the country, and it really does take a special occasion to get us in one place. Back when we were kids, it was so much easier. Now, though, we’re all on different adventures, paving different paths. It’s wonderful, of course, and I love seeing everyone so happy. But there’s just nothing like being under one roof again.
Here’s the thing about Easter, though: the weather can be unpredictable, much like Emma. There’s just no telling what it’ll be like, or when and where our little girl is going to destroy her outfit, haha. And let’s be serious: the minute she walks through the door, she’s going to be covered in chocolate. So the Larkins are headed to Ocean City with a lot of options–all from J.Crew Factory!–for Easter Weekend. :)
Before I get to outfit details, I have to tell you how much we’ve come to rely on J.Crew Factory. (Side note: Huge flash sale today! Use code “BLOSSOM” to take an extra 30 percent off and get free shipping.) I know I talk about this all the time, but Emma grows out of her stuff quicker than my friends can down a bottle of rosé at Girls’ Night. ;) And Mitch? Well, the guy is tough on his clothing. But J.Crew Factory’s stuff is affordable, perfectly preppy and well-made… and Emma literally squeals when I open Factory packages. (Yes: I do realize that this may indicate I have a problem, haha.) Likewise, Mitch loves it. Every time we’re up at Kira’s lake house, he asks to stop at the store on the way home, and we’ve made countless excursions to the store right outside of Chicago. Similarly, I’m a huge fan. I love that J.Crew Factory is constantly bringing back popular pieces from J.Crew’s past, and that whenever the brand puts out its new releases, there are a zillion things I adore. I mean, these gingham slides?! This bow skirt?! This scalloped top?! These chambray tie-waist pants?! This striped skirt?! These pink pants?! This gingham ruffled-sleeved dress?!
Okay. I’m stopping. Let’s get to the outfits!
Mitch
Ultimate happiness. I’ve wanted a seersucker suit for Mitch for the longest time, but whenever we’d find one, something would be wrong with it. This one–made up of the blazer and pants–is the one, though. I was actually in the Bahamas when our most recent J.Crew Factory package arrived, but Mitch opened it and texted me to tell me how awesome he looked in the suit, haha. I was dying. So he’ll definitely be wearing it over Easter, whether it’s the full suit for mass or the pants/blazer separately. Mitch is also packing this crab-embroidered sweater, which is perfect for the Shore!
Emma
When I saw this striped number, I couldn’t help myself, as I own this striped maxi dress. So beachy, and I can’t wait to “twin” over our trip! For Easter Sunday, Emma will be in this dress as long as the weather cooperates. Otherwise, we might go rouge and have her wear these gingham capris and this white button-down, because holy cuteness. And of course she owns this gingham dress.
Me
J.Crew Factory has so many great new arrivals right now, so it was extremely difficult to narrow it down! But in my suitcase will be the following: this gingham dress, these bow pants, this striped maxi dress, this ruffled bow-backed top, these pink pants, this striped skirt, this bow skirt, this scalloped top, these mules, and these gingham slides. I know. I went a little crazy. Everything was perfect, though, and I wanted options for that unpredictable weather!
