I’d be lying if I said I’m not sad that I’m missing out on NYFW this year. I’ve actually been avoiding Instagram and NYC-based blogs like the plague, as each photo of New York or a runway show makes me homesick. I thought about going back for it, but I really wanted to be here for Mitch during his first few days in his new job, and–let’s be serious–there was no way I was leaving Noodle for an entire week at this point! There’s always February, right?
While I’m not currently in the Big Apple for the festivities, that doesn’t mean I haven’t put great thought into what I’d wear if I were. Specifically, what shoes I’d pick out from Saks Fifth Avenue, which is home to my favorite shoe department in all of New York City. (It has its own zip code. Not even kidding.) I’m not exactly an advocate for dropping hundreds (if not thousands) of dollars on a single pair of shoes on a regular basis, but I do think that it’s perfectly fine to splurge once in a while for a super special occasion–like your wedding… or Fashion Week. Especially if you think you’ll get a lot of wear out of them.
(Mitch is probably freaking out as he’s reading this, haha. ;))
Below are some of my dream NYFW shoes. I think my favorite is the 2.5-inch Valentino Bicolor Leather Rockstud Pump in “Marine.” They certainly are a bit edgier than anything else I own… but taking chances is what Fashion Week is all about, right?! I love that they’d go with nearly everything I own (I wear a lot of navy), and that I’d actually be able to walk in them. I’ve also always admired the “Rockstud” style on Rachel Parcell. But how can you go wrong with a classic pair of black Louboutins?! (Though this pair might be more my speed, just because of its heel height.)
Which pair would you wear to NYFW?
And since we’re on the subject of shoes, I might as well highlight my favorite boots available at Saks right now. I seriously adore those bow-adorned Kate Spade booties! Sigh.
The Rag & Bone booties look delicious. :] // itsCarmen.com ☼ ☯
Carmen, ugh–I have been lusting over those for the last two years! I really feel like I might pull the trigger this year, haha. Maybe when I get back to NYC and visit Saks’ shoe department. ;) I know I won’t be able to resist!!
xx
Want want want the studded Valentino!!!!!!
Susan, RIGHT?! I had no idea they came in a 2.5-inch version. Makes me want them even more. ;)
So many beautiful options, I love how so many of them are classic pieces that can be worn for years and will never go out of style.

Alex, I totally agree. I really love the classic black Louboutins. They’re gorgeous! I’m also all about owning a limited amount of stuff. I feel like these would be the only pair of black pumps I’d ever need to own, you know?!
They’re all beautiful but I really love both pairs of the tortoise Manolo’s and the polka dot pair…gorgeous!

Kari, that was me last year. I missed nearly everything, but thankfully got to go to one show over the weekend. It was heartbreaking! But what are ya going to do, ya know? ;) xoxo!

ME TOO! I am sad I already have a light brown pair of booties. Those are clearly superior!
