And #omg the Free People Tunic Sweater was restocked in a bunch of sizes!) / Ralph Lauren (Newer) Wool Coat (This one and this one are great, too.) / Hudson High-Rise Skinny Jeans (But guys. This pair of button-up jeans from Madewell and this pair of CASHMERE jeans–also from Madewell–give me life. Get them. You won’t regret it! Man. I know it’s is a short holiday season this year, but the month just seems to be FLYING by. I’ve been working furiously, haha, just trying to keep up so that I can have a (relatively) relaxed Christmas with my fam. Have I told you about our plans?
You can’t answer, so I’m going to tell you. 😜
Okay! So we’re flying to my parents’ home on the East Coast on Friday the 20th, and then we have a party with my mom’s side of the family Saturday night. On Sunday morning, we’re doing “Christmas morning” with my immediate family, since my brother couldn’t get the 25th off. And then that afternoon, we have a party with my dad’s side of the family. My parents are hosting everything so we don’t have to drive to and from Long Island–where most of my family is from, including myself!–with the girls. (We decided that two back-to-back flights and road trips would be a bit too much for them.) I’m so grateful to my parents and all the family members who are coming to us for everything! Thank you, guys. LOVE YOU. We fly home on Monday morning, and then we spend Christmas Eve and Christmas Day in Chicago… and then on the 26th, we head down to my in-laws’ lake house for a week with them. We’re spending New Year’s here, hopefully with a few friends and their kiddos!
PHEW.
So yeah. We’re going to have a lot going on, which is why I’m working hard to get my work–and my shopping–wrapped up before the 20th. And who am I relying on for the majority of my Christmas presents this year? Nordstrom, of course. ;) Nordstrom’s site and gift guides are set up so that you can search by price range, and so many of the best stuff is under $100 and under $100. It’s great. Shipping and returns are always free, too, which means that you can check out immediately and cross those names off the list as the ideas come in!
So today, I thought I’d share the 20 BEST GIFTS (for both men and women) from Nordstrom. (According to Kelly Larkin.)
Scroll down, please. 😉
The 20 Best Gifts from Nordstrom for Him & Her
Her
Barefoot Dreams Hat + Scarf Set: This set is incredible. It has one negative review, saying that the set smelled weirdly… but I ordered two in order to determine whether the review was correct or incorrect, and both sets had zero smell! Highly recommend. It’s the softest hat and scarf I own, it comes in a ton of colors, and it makes for the PERFECT gift.
Faux Leather Tote: I’ve given this tote to countless people over the years because it’s priced just under $50 and is SO soft. It’s always such a crowd-pleaser! It’s also reversible.
Kate Spade Initial Necklace: Another gift I rely on! The price is great, and people love the personalized touch.
French Connection Sweaters: These are always a hit. French Connection is behind so many pins-gone-viral, and every time I give one to one of my cousins, they freak out. It’s so much fun, haha. I’m wearing this one in these photos. (Note: you have to wear a mock-neck top underneath it because it’s wool. However, when I do that, it doesn’t itch. And I have sensitive skin! But just want to make that clear. It cannot be worn without something underneath, but it’s SO worth it!) I also love this one, this one and this one!
Free People Tunic Sweater: Another one I depend on. It’s GREAT. Runs large, so definitely order a size down. But I love it so much that I own it in three colors. It’s stretchy and soft yet thick and warm, and it looks great on everyone.
Tory Burch Logo Earrings: My cousins gave me these years ago and I still wear them all the time. They’re my special occasion earrings!
Patagonia Vest: Can’t go wrong. Who doesn’t love Patagonia, and who doesn’t love this specific vest! Another viral pin, for sure.
Red Beret: I like pairing this with the top right below this. It’s like you’re giving a full look! Also, red berets make all winter outfits pop.
Ribbed Turtleneck Top: Here it is! Doesn’t it look cozy?
Chenille Mock Neck Sweater: So soft. I have a similar one, and I wear it to parties when I don’t want to freeze. It’s fantastic. Super warm but also fancy-looking.
Cable-Knit Sweater: For the preps. A good spin on the classic cable-knit sweater!
Velvet Tunic: Another super cozy top that can be worn with leggings and passed off as “dressy.”
Monica Vinader Personalized Bracelet: One of my favorite pieces in my jewelry box! Simply bring it into Nordstrom and they’ll engrave it for you. Did this for my mom once and she loved it!
Wubby: YES. It’s just under $50 and everyone freaks out. Look at it! Ultimate coziness. Runs large.
Dyson Hair Dryer: This is my splurge gift. Mitch got it for me a few years ago (refurbished), and it HAS changed everything for me. My hair is healthier and it only takes five minutes to dry it. It’s made life nicer!
Halogen Cashmere Sweater: Best price for a cashmere sweater and it’s what I always recommend when people ask me for gift ideas for her! So many colors to choose from, and it’s something luxurious that perhaps people wouldn’t buy for themselves.
Free People Scarf: It’s huge. It’s cozy. It’s all over Pinterest. GOTTA HAVE IT.
Madewell Cardigan: A staple that’s priced extraordinarily well!
Butter Socks: Something cute to put on top of your gift. They’re the softest socks I’ve ever owned, and they help me get through Chicago winters!
Him
Dopp Kit: Chances are, whoever you’re giving this to is traveling for the holidays, too! Every guy needs a dopp kit yet so many don’t own one and just throw their toiletries loose into their suitcases. (Agree?! It’s so strange, haha.) This is a great gift!
Patagonia Better Sweater: Mitch has a couple of these! They’re such great everyday basics, and they’re comfy and casual yet polished looking.
Adidas Sneakers: This are a little on the trendier side, but I like them. Of course, I don’t know how well your guy would handle white–Mitch does NOT handle it well–but maybe he’s up for the challenge?! Ha!
Vineyard Vines Vest: Mitch owns this and loves it. Again, it’s a classic, and something he’ll have forever. It looks fantastic but it’s also added warmth for under his jacket and over his button-down.
Nest Candle: Nest sent us a few of these a couple of years ago and Mitch is obsessed. He burns one every night. They smell amazing and bring so much warmth into our house!
Tartan Scarf: A timeless piece! And perfect for the holidays.
Men’s Butter Socks: I had no idea that Butter makes men’s socks, too! A great little present to put on top of your gift… or a great stocking stuffer on its own.
Barbour Quilted Jacket: Mitch has this and I LOVE it when he wears it. He looks so sharp in it!
Navy Polo Sneakers: Another Mitch favorite. The navy color is the best for obvious reasons. ;)
Leather Gloves: Beautiful leather yet manly looking.
Quilted Leather Gloves: Same!
Tartan Umbrella: Because then you can steal it from him.
“Brew” Coffee Table Book: Mitch is super into coffee right now so I loved this when I saw it. So much fun for the upcoming chill of January, February, March, April and May. (Booooo.)
Recipe Cocktail Shaker: This just looks like a lot of fun and something he’d use Christmas night. I love toy gifts, haha.
Noise-Cancelling Headphones: Mitch swears by these and could not work/concentrate without them. Great for a guy who commutes or who works in a noisy environment. Mitch calls them his “wife-cancelling headphones” because of a story I’ll save for another time.
Polaroid Camera: Wouldn’t this be a blast?! Especially to play with on Christmas?!
“Good Times” Photo Album Coffee Table Book: And then you could give him this, and say that you’re going to fill it with photos when you go ______.
Vineyard Vines Shirt: A favorite. It’s perfect for Christmas but also features a plaid that can be worn year-round.
Ralph Lauren Plates: So preppy. I’m obsessed.
Ralph Lauren Mugs: We have them in navy!
