This past Monday, I shared photos of the progress we’ve made on the nursery. :) I’m so, so proud of it. It has four walls, flooring, a door and a door knob. It’s nothing short of a miracle, haha.
In the months leading up to the baby’s due date, I definitely had my fair share of mini mental breakdowns over it. Everyone told me to calm down, and that a baby doesn’t actually need a nursery. But I really can’t express just how upsetting it was. It’s not like the room was just lacking decor. It was lacking an entire wall. A door. FLOORS! While yes, I logically knew that we’d survive if the project wasn’t completed on time (infants often sleep in their parents’ rooms anyway), I did NOT want to be under construction with a newborn. It’s hard enough being first-time parents! Being first-time parents with contractors trudging in and out of the house on the reg? No, thank you.
Somehow, though, it’s done! Is it decorated? No. But who cares? That’s something that can be done slowly, over time. And since we rushed through so many projects this year, decorating the nursery is something I really want to enjoy. :)
On our list of things to pick out: a rug (once we know the sex of the baby), a chair (we temporarily have #12 from this post in there with a different cushion), decor and artwork. So today, Mitch and I are teaming up with our friends at Minted for two exciting undertakings: picking out art for the nursery, and a $250 Minted giveaway for you guys!
Entering the giveaway is ridiculously easy. Click here, and simply enter your first and last name as well as your email. AND THAT’S IT. The giveaway will end on August 11th. :)
In the meantime, though, Mitch and I would LOVE your input about what art to choose. I am head over heels for this giraffe print, so that’s a definite. (Maybe over the changing table?!) But we have no idea what to hang over the crib, as well as what to hang on either side of the bookshelf. (See photos of the room at the end of this post.)
One // Two // Three // Four // Five
Six // Seven // Eight // Nine // Ten
Above are some of our favorites, but Minted has a huge collection of children’s wall art. (We’d love to go with some of the adorable personalized pieces, but since there are some unknowns, we haven’t really looked at those yet.) Thoughts?! We’d love to get your input, especially since we don’t know the baby’s sex/name yet! Though maybe by the time that this post goes live, we will… ;)
Thanks for your help!
