Earlier this week, Mitch and I took the girls–can you tell that I love saying “the girls”? 😂–over to the Shore Club, which is a newish seasonal spot on the water in Lincoln Park. We arrived just as the sun was setting, and everything was perfect. The warm air wafting through the windows of the restaurant; the twinkle lights overhead in the outside area; the sand under our feet as we ran around the beach afterward.

I’ll admit that it takes a LOT to get the four of us out the door–did you see this pic?!–but whenever we get to our destination, I look around and am overcome by gratitude. I don’t know. It’s a constant “I can’t believe this is real life!” kind of feeling, like everything has finally fallen into place and we’re complete. :)

Matching Sperrys

Anyway, I’m SO EXCITED about today’s post, because Sperry sent the Larkins matching shoes! I’m dying over the cuteness. I mean, the madras print? And Lucy’s Sperrys?! (Okay, she’s complementing instead of matching, but so teeny-tiny and adorable!)

If you’ve been reading this blog for a while now, you probably know that we’re a “Sperry Family.” ;) And when I saw that the brand had come out with a new line of madras shoes, I (of course) added them to my cart. So you can imagine the excitement when Sperry told us that they wanted to collaborate on a post featuring their collection of preppy prints!

It goes without saying that madras anything is amazing… but the comfort factor of Sperry’s madras line is insanely awesome, too. The shoes are super flexible and the breathable canvas material is soft, which meant no break-in time for the Larkins. The shoes are also designed to conform to your feet, and they have shock-absorbing heel cups and Ortholite insoles for stability and added comfort. They have razor-cut Wave-Siping™ for traction, too. They’re GREAT. And in case you’re wondering, we all found them to run true to size.

Ultimate preppiness!

But I digress. I hope everyone is having a wonderful MDW! I think it’s easy to get caught up in the loveliness of a long weekend, but I’m trying to remember the bravery and selflessness exhibited by those who’ve given up their lives for our country. They’re responsible for all of this, and they’re the reason we lead the lives we do. ❤️

By the time that you’ll be reading this, we’ll be at my in-laws’ lake house. (You can follow along with us via Instagram. ☺️) It’s going to be an emotional trip because my brother-in-law and his family are moving to Virginia next month for a new job. So hard to see them go, but we’re also SO happy for them.

It seems like Mitch and his brothers are all in flux right now; Charlie recently built and moved into his farmhouse, John’s undertaking a cross-country move, and Mitch obviously just had a baby and moved. My in-laws are constantly joking that we all decided to make major life changes at the exact same time to kill them, haha. It’s been a lot, but pretty fabulous to see everyone doing so great! :)

Over and out!
