Oh, hello there! I’m having some trouble with my auto-scheduler, so please excuse my intermittent disappearances around these parts. 😉 We’re having a great time in Florida, though. A few days ago, we made the drive from Disney (more to come on that) to Captiva Island because my parents are thinking about retiring on Sanibel/Captiva in a couple of years.

Mitch and I (and Emma) spent a week on Captiva last year when our flight was cancelled during that crazy Polar Vortex in Chicago… and we adored it. It’s so nice to be back! It’s really becoming a special place for our family, and it seems like my parents love it, too. The laid-back lifestyle is just so nice!

I’l be sure to share photos soon, but let’s switch gears for a moment. I’ve been really into Madewell this year! Everything I’ve tried from the brand lately has been on point and of the nicest quality. I obviously lean heavily on J.Crew for everyday staples, but Madewell has certainly risen in the ranks for me!

A few products I’ve recently fallen in love with:

Roadtripper Jeans: YOU NEED THESE. I’m a jeans girl; that’s no secret. I work from home and I’m a mom of two young children, so I spend most of my life in them! Owning good ones–ones that are soft and figure-flattering yet don’t bag out–is so important to me. The Roadtripper Jeans are fantastic and check all those boxes. They’re more like leggings, I suppose, but they hug in all the right places and are beyond comfy. I brought a few pairs of jeans down to Florida with me because it’s been cooler, but I’ve worn these the most. They have a 26″ inseam, so they have a cropped look, but they also come in tall and petite in case you’d like them longer or shorter! So. Good. Worth every penny. Totally TTS.

Pom Sweater: I’ve worn this twice while I’ve been down here, too. It’s amazingly soft and cozy and I love the poms! (Everyone kept saying they looked like Mickey Mouses, haha.) It has a slightly boxy, shorter cut, so it’s great for French-tucking into jeans. TTS, but I went up a size because I like my tops and sweaters looser.

Textured V-Neck Top: If you’re like me and lack everyday basic tops, this is a solid one to add to your wardrobe. I find myself grabbing it often when I want to wear a fun pair of shoes or headband–or carry a colorful bag. It’s a great departure from my go-to white turtleneck. I love that it doesn’t require ironing, either!

Drapey Boy Shirt: Everyone needs one awesome white button-down. It’s amazingly versatile and a travel staple since you can pair it with nearly everything. I just bought it and will report back soon!

Corduroy Skirt: SO CUTE, right? Ever since I found those fleece tights, I’ve been way more adventurous with skirts and dresses during Chicago winters. This skirt is such a classic, and I imagine I’ll be wearing it throughout the fall, too!
