How it took me this long to discover the loveliness of the cashmere sweater, I’m not sure. But holy goodness, guys. I’VE BEEN MISSING OUT.
Before my favorite sweater in the entire world arrived, I kind of rolled my eyes at cashmere. I thought: so expensive and so silly. I stand corrected, though, because it’s everything. Especially to a Chicagoan, whose winter wardrobe consists pretty much of nothing but sweaters.
I also love that my first cashmere sweater isn’t a boring one. It’s the Two-Way Cashmere Cardigan from Garnet Hill, which, as the name suggests, can be worn two ways: with the buttons down the front or with the buttons down the back. It’s the softest article of clothing I own… and the color? It’s called “Tulip,” which is quite fitting for my current state of mind. (Come on, spring!) I’m in love.
Now, I’m definitely not suggesting that we all strictly buy cashmere sweaters from here on out. (Let’s not lose our minds.) But I fully endorse owning one or two, and getting them from Garnet Hill’s Cashmere Shop. The prices are fair, the styles are on point, and the quality is out-of-this-world. Sigh.
Anyway, I wore this little number yesterday, when I ventured down to the West Loop to grab lunch at Little Goat Diner with my friend Erin. The restaurant is apparently packed on a regular basis, but for some reason, it wasn’t that bad yesterday… and we were able to sit and gab for a couple of hours. So much fun! (It’s crazy how much Erin and I have in common.)
Afterward, I headed over to the Gold Coast to get some work done and snap photos with Jess. It was a bit of a hectic day, with lots of travel. But so worth it. Everyone needs a little quality girl time once in a while, right? ;)
