Cutout Leggings (Also available here and here. Love these, these and these, too! And here are Jess’ hydrangea leggings!) / Striped Tank / Similar sneakers here and here / Quilted Tote (And how cute is the backpack and yoga mat carrier?!)
This year, Mitch and I decided that it was important to cut out blog events, as most of them occur on weeknights, and family time is precious. While it’s definitely the best decision for us right now, I’ll admit that I sometimes miss ’em. Nearly all my Chicago girlfriends are bloggers, haha, so events often just feel like parties! A lot of fun, for sure. :)
When Henry’s Hard Sparkling–a new line of spiked, sparkling water–reached out about hosting a wellness event at Mahalo with Jess, Blair and Danielle, I kind of assumed it would be out of the cards. (Who would watch Emma?!) But it just so happened to fall on a weekend when my parents were visiting, and therefore sneaking out for a couple of hours would be totally doable. Which meant that Mitch could even come along for some of the fun!
I’m so glad it worked out. It was honestly one of the best events I’ve ever attended, as it allowed me to break from the usual (albeit fun) chaos of my days, catch up with friends over drinks and brunch, do some yoga, find some balance, and breathe. We all know that I’m not the most coordinated or athletic girl in the world, but I even learned how to do some basic yoga poses. And yes, I did put the Henry’s Hard Sparkling—only 95 calories and three carbs!–down for ’em. But really: you have to try it. It’s light, refreshing and fruity, and perfect for the upcoming warm weather. I’ll definitely be bringing some to the lake and beach this spring and summer. It’s available at grocery and retail stores nationwide, by the way!
A few notes about the workout clothing featured in these photos:
I love a good pair of leggings that can also be worn as pants, despite the whole “Leggings Aren’t Pants” movement. ;) Honestly, though, nice leggings are getting me through my first year of motherhood, and this cutout pair is SO GOOD! They’re beyond soft and insanely comfy; they actually compete with my love for this super soft Lilly pair that I wore in this recent post. (Here’s the cropped version.) Oh! And how adorable are Jess’s hydrangea leggings?! I know: I’m developing an obsession. But those are destined for Kelly Larkin’s closet. Jess, I promise I won’t steal them from you. But, like, when was the last time you saw them? (…) Oh! And while these aren’t the softest in my collection, they’re gingham and VERY comfy. :)
Anyway, a huge thanks to everyone who came out for the morning, and be sure to pick up Henry’s Hard Sparkling for your next event! :)
