This month has been a whirlwind, and it feels like we’ve been running at full speed. From Lake Bloomington and Michigan City to Denver, we’ve had an absolute blast. But now that I’m home, I’ll admit that it’s really nice to sleep in my own bed, catch up on laundry, and not have to worry about my travel-sized toiletries running out. I’m actually headed to Milwaukee this weekend for Jess’ bachelorette and then to Memphis early next week for a blog-related event (so excited!), but then the Larkins are staying put until mid-August. I’m looking forward to a slower pace and enjoying Chicago in the summer. :)
Anyway, the city was actually on the chillier side on Monday, when we arrived home… and it was the perfect excuse to wear my goodies from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale that I picked up while I was in Denver. (In case you missed it, here’s a roundup of my favorite products, here’s my first “Dressing Room Stories” post, and here’s my second “Dressing Room Stories” post.) Here’s some info on ’em:
AG Legging Raw Hem Ankle Skinny Jeans
It was my first time wearing the AG Legging Raw Hem Ankle Skinny Jeans, and WOW. Remember how I used to go on and on and on about Rag & Bone’s Capri jeans? I still think they’re awesome, but–and I can’t believe I’m saying this–these are better. They’re perfectly stretchy yet don’t stretch out, they don’t give me a muffin top, and they’re a little on the thicker side, which will be perfect for the transition to fall and winter. (Ugh. Let’s push that back as much as we can, though, okay?) At first, I was a little nervous that the raw hem and the small distressed patch up by one of the pockets wouldn’t go with my “vibe,” 😉 but I love it! While I obviously gravitate to classic and preppier looks, I also enjoy integrating trends every once in a while. (In very subtle ways, haha.) I’m such a fan of this one! I’m wearing a size 25, which, for the most part, is what I’ve been wearing this year in jeans. So I’d say that they run pretty true to size.) The best part? They’re on MAJOR sale, and they’re somehow still available.
In other jean-related news, I also bought this pair of Hudson jeans recently and adore them. Even Mitch commented on how great they looked. (Isn’t it nice when guys notice something like that? Of course, I’m all like, “Well, I guess they’re magic jeans, then! Never taking them off!” They’re ridiculously soft and I love the lighter wash, which is something my closet lacked.
Note: I’m somewhere between 5’4 and 5’5, but I do have a longer torso and shorter legs. So if you’re taller, or have longer legs than I do, the jeans will probably be a little shorter on you. But they’re ankle jeans, so that’s the idea! (I pretty much buy ankle jeans exclusively, otherwise I have to hem them.)
Side-Tie Cashmere Sweater
The cutest. When I saw this on sale in Denver, it was love at first sight, and I knew it was coming home with me. It’s amazingly soft, and I adore the little bows at the sides of it. I also love how the back gives my butt a little more coverage, as I like to wear white jeans with regular bikini briefs (more comfy, right?!), and there are often visible lines as a result, haha. (First world probs for sure. But you know.) I’m wearing a small because I like my sweaters slightly oversized for a cozier feel, but if you like your clothing a bit more fitted, order your regular size. :) I’m expecting this one to sell out quickly, as Public Access starts on Friday, so snatch it up while you still can! Isn’t it cute in navy and oatmeal, too?! (And this similar one is a fave!)
Tory Burch Janey Pumps
Obsessed. A classic pump that’ll never go out of style–and one that features the comfy block heel–is a no-brainer, especially when it’s on major sale. I love the Janey Pump in navy, too, but felt like the brown would go with even more, so I went with that. They fit completely true to size (I’m always a 7.5 in Tory Burch flats and heels), and I walked at least a mile in ’em without discomfort. Definitely recommend! Such a cute shoe for the fall. Also, a newer version of my Tory Burch boots and my Tory Burch flats are included in the sale! (I’d go up a half size in the boots, and order your regular size in the flats.)
Madewell Transport Tote
I have the regular Transport Tote, but this one is included in the sale, and I think it’s really cute! It’s also a steal. Oh, and here’s a more affordable version of the bag. (Under $50!) I’ve purchased it for so many friends and family members as gifts, and it’s SO nice.
I’m off to shoot a couple of projects and tackle the laundry. ;) Hope you guys have a great day! Halfway there to Friday. <3
