Hi there! I’m Christy, and I’m excited to be guest posting today. Last week I finally got the chance to go back to New York and visit my twin sister for the first time since I moved to Los Angeles almost half a year ago. Unfortunately, a blizzard rolled in only a few days into the trip, but we made the most of it. I love how it feels like the entire city slows down for a beat whenever it snows in New York. The roads are empty, except for a few brave drivers and a handful of yellow cabs. And every lawn in Central Park is scattered with sledders holding household objects they’ve improvised as a sled, cardboard boxes, plastic storage box lids, you name it. In the afternoon, the sidewalks outside restaurants are littered with piles of sleds while families take a lunch break or warm up with some hot cocoa — the only word to describe what it feels like walking through New York on those days is magical. So naturally, I went for many long walks around Central Park, the Upper West Side, and the Upper East Side to soak it all in and took a few snaps that Kelly asked me to share. So, similar to Kelly’s Happiness Walk Through Lincoln Park posts, this is a happiness walk through Central Park.
Ralph’s Coffee is a quintessential spot in the Upper East Side. They also have the best peppermint hot chocolate.
The Carolina Herrera store looked even more gorgeous in the snow.
The skyline of Central Park South peeking out from the trees and rocks in Central Park.
Almost anything dusted with snow looks so beautiful, this church was no exception.
The view of The Plaza from Gapstow Bridge overlooking The Pond is stunning during every season.
Citi Bike docks snowed in.
Anytime I pass Ladurée I always contemplate picking up a few macarons.
Love how every subway station has a unique design.
The Mall in Central Park just as the snow began to fall.
When it snows you always see a few cross country skiers in Central Park.
Snowy sidewalks along Central Park West.
I love how places like this exist in the City. This is right by the West 77th Street Stone Arch.
The roads were so quiet you could see Columbus Circle from blocks away.

Quiet streets in the Upper East Side.
Just as the blizzard started to pick up.
Right before the snow. This is my favorite place in Central Park. It’s right by the West 77th Street Stone Arch.
Central Park lampposts beginning to turn on as the sun set.
The reflection of the sunset in the skyscrapers is always so beautiful.
The Dakota on West 72nd Street.
The last couple of sledders wrapping up a long day in the snow.
Love the way the lampposts illuminate the park in the evening.
The view of that skyline never gets old.
On Sunday morning the sun finally came out.
Runners flocked to Central Park.
The roads were cleared.
And as the snow began to melt the roads got a little more busy.
