Officially calling these “Happiness Walks” from now on. 😜
We’ve been getting a ton of snow in Chicago lately, and it’s honestly been keeping me going! I’m not the biggest fan of winter, but snow makes everything more magical and exciting. February without snow in Chicago is like a vacation on the planet Mercury. No thanks.
I took these photos the other day while Lucy was napping. Both Emma and Noodle refused to accompany me, haha, so I went out on my own for a while. I’m not used to being alone! It was weird. But good. There was silence. I could think. I pondered things.
Anyway, that’s why there are way more photos than usual. Hope you enjoy! ♥️
Kelly….I just can’t say enough about all of these beautiful pictures….you are truly a fine photographer!!! So many I loved…one was the gate with a perfect wreath…WITH Lantern above it and a red bow! PERFECT! The puppy foot prints were precious…..YOU DID A GREAT JOB capturing Chicago BEAUTY in the winter….I would love to know which photo is your fave.
Gosh, Karen, this was so kind of you! Thank you so much for your sweet words. It makes me me excited about getting out there with my camera tomorrow; temps are finally starting to rise here and I can hardly wait! I think my fave is probably the gate… or the snow-covered pine tree on the city street! <3 Again, thank you so much!
Thank you the neighborhood tour. Really nice neighborhood even in the snow. Who really cares its cold when you can walk around a neighborhood like this one. I wish most of the neighborhoods in the U.S. were like this.
Awww — That’s so nice of you, Ann! Thank you! It’s definitely pretty frigid and gray these days but there’s so much beauty, too! <3
makes my heart go pitter patter….love the photos thank you, love you.
Hi Kelly, I LOVE these gorgeous pictures! My son was just accepted to DePaul Univ for next fall. Unfortunately, we haven’t been able to see the Lincoln Park campus (we are from NJ) due to COVID restrictions…plus they have been largely online, so there isn’t much to tour anyway. Do you think it’s in a nice/convenient/safe area of LP? He is so excited to be so close to big downtown Chicago, but his mama is a little anxious!!! :)
I grew up in LP. It’s a great neighborhood and pretty safe. The DePaul campus has tons of security around. Regardless though, this is the big city so he needs to be aware of his surroundings. If he uses common sense, he’ll be fine.
Hi Susan,
YAY! Congratulations on your son’s acceptance! DePaul is amazing. We used to live right off the campus. It’s gorgeous and in *such* a safe part of the city. All the benefits of living in Chicago but more of a neighborhood feel. Tons of young families live here because it’s such a safe area! :)
Of course, it’s a city, so it’s important to exercise caution. But I think he’ll feel very comfortable here!
Thank you, Mary!
Such great pics! I’m sitting here with a smile on my face after looking at these beautiful pics! Thank you Kelly! I look forward to seeing these for all 4 seasons! :)
Awww, thank you, Judy! Getting out there tomorrow with the camera for another round. Thank you for your kindness! <3
