I’d had my eye on this vest for a long time. The only problem was that I owned several puffer jackets and vests, and was short on closet space. Therefore, I was unable to justify adding another big piece of outerwear to the mix, considering the price was a whopping $108. But then I spotted a nearly identical one for only $29.99. Yes, I’ll take that, #thankyouverymuch!

A trip down memory lane: When my family moved from Long Island, New York to Princeton Junction, New Jersey, my parents enrolled me in a very small private school in Princeton. On my first day, I noticed that nearly every girl had a pair of Dr. Martens. But I, unfortunately, was stuck with the pair of Mary Janes my mother had graciously purchased for me. Eventually, I told Mom just how badly I wanted a pair of Doc Martens, and she visited Marshalls store location after Marshalls store location until she found the coolest pair that was within my family’s “back to school” budget. I loved those shoes so much that I literally slept with them, haha.
I love you, Mom! Thank you for doing everything within your power to make the Sheehan kids’ little wishes come true.
Today, there’s a Marshalls around the corner from my house, and I’ll admit that Emma and I go more often than we probably should. But I can’t help it. I’m constantly finding amazing stuff for crazy good prices. Like this Ralph Lauren ginger jar, which I scored for only $29.99… or this pair of Nine West lace-up flats, which I nabbed for only $24.99… or the above Cynthia Rowley sweater for only $29.99.

Anyway, I’m writing this post in bed right now, after a wonderfully relaxing weekend at my in-laws’ lake house. I’m actually taking tomorrow off, and spending some quality time with my little girl. :) While I have a ton on my to-do list, my mother-in-law is the best and coming up this week to watch Emma so I can make some progress on it. So tomorrow, it’s just Mommy-and-Emma time. And I’m so excited. <3
