We have a lot of rain on the forecast for the foreseeable future–both literally and figuratively, I suppose–but I’m placing a great deal of importance on getting outside as much as possible, as mental health has never been more important. And I’m very much for anything that makes these times a bit sunnier!

Joules’ Right As Rain Collection is adorable, and perfect for the whole family while we try to get some much-needed fresh air this season in backyards and other safe outdoor areas. And you know what’s awesome? Joules prides themselves on being “forever weather optimists,” which is so, so applicable to our lives right now. Rain, they say, should never stop play… and you know what?! They’re right. We’re in this together and we’re keeping our chins up!

The Larkin Family has long been huge fans of Joules, initially because of the company’s affinity for “Noodle dogs” but then for its rain gear and now for its everyday wear! A lot of my everyday staples come from the brand, and I love the twists and little touches that they put on the classics. They’re thoughtful and fun, and they’re happy. Emma squealed when she opened her unicorn boots, for example, and she went adamantly not wanting to go outside to excitedly scratching at the door. Now that’s magic! And, I mean, could the boots be any cuter?! (Said in Chandler’s voice, of course. 😉 Btw: Anyone watching any good new shows? Help a sister out.)

The Right As Rain Collection really is fun. It includes classic staples but new styles are also added each season to keep things exciting, and I have to mention here that all the prints–including the dogs on my boots and the unicorns and hearts on the girls’–are hand-drawn and painted by an in-house design team. Amazing, right? I never would have guessed! The soles are inspired by car tires, and they disperse water for better gripping of wet surfaces, too. This means I don’t worry about Emma as much when she jumps in “muddy puddles,” as Peppa says. :)

Anyway, some fun news: Joules is currently hosting a Right As Rain competition, and the winner will receive a $1,000 shopping spree! To enter, simply share your rainy day photos on Instagram using #JoulesRightAsRain. (And yes, photos taken from your window are perfectly fine, if not encouraged. ☺️) Have some time to kill? ;) Entering takes two seconds!

Okay! A little breakdown of what we’re wearing:

Kelly’s Boots: Finally, guys. Noodle boots! If you’ve been following along with me for a while, you know how much I love my welly boots. But these are by far the cutest I’ve ever laid eyes on. (The inside is lined with a dog bone print!) They make me smile when I put them on, and they’re easy to put on, which is huge for me. I need to be able to get my footwear on while holding a baby, and that’s normally no easy feat. These boots, though, are a cinch… and super comfortable!

Kelly’s Jacket: I usually struggle with raincoats because they’re rarely warm enough for me, but the Shoreside Coat is both waterproof and cozy because of its fabulous striped liner. I love wearing it in its casual A-line shape, but if you like a more fitted and feminine cut, simply cinch it at the waist with the drawcord. (I would say that it runs TTS, btw. Took my usual size!)

Kelly’s Striped Harbour Breton Top: One of my most-worn tops, and I’ve had it for years. Joules’ Harbour collection is awesome; the Breton tops are structured and substantial yet flattering and soft. I wear mine year-round, and it’s almost always in my suitcase when I travel! Super versatile and well-made, too.

Emma’s Unicorn Boots: SHOW-STOPPER. I know I already gushed about these, but seriously: they’re a must-have this season for littles! I’m already sad that Emma will one day grow out of them, but I ordered them in two sizes up so we’ll get several years’ wear out of them… and, of course, they’ll then be passed down to Lucy at some point! So we have many years of happiness ahead of us, haha!

Emma’s Kitty Jacket: This is our first non-yellow kids’ raincoat, and I can’t believe I held out for so long. I’m really getting adventurous over here, no?! Next thing you know, I’ll be blogging about street style. ;) Jokes, but this jacket is everything. Much like my coat, it has a cozy liner in it so I rest easy about Emma getting chilly, and the kitty ears on the hood are so sweet.

Emma’s Striped Top: Joules makes kids’ Harbour shirts, too! I love that they can be passed down from brother to sister, and from sister to brother, too. They really work for both, and that flexibility gives you way more bang for your buck–which is something I know we’re all looking for when it comes to kids’ clothing. Just like the women’s tops, they’re sturdy and well-made, too!

Lucy’s Heart Boots: My heart. (Heart joke. ♥️) In all seriousness, Lucy couldn’t be left out of the cuteness. So while she’s not walking yet, she’s certainly stylin’. And these will be perfect for next year as well!

Lucy’s Dalmatian Jacket: They were hard to capture on a wriggling baby, but Lucy’s blush raincoat features little Dalmatian puppies, and they bring me back to my childhood. My brothers and I went through a couple of years during which we lived and breathed “101 Dalmatians,” and we even named our first dog “Patch.” Dalmatians will always remind me of those simple, happy times… andof how special childhood innocence is. Sorry to get all emotional on you, haha, but you know. This one is definitely a favorite from the collection!

Lucy’s Star Sweater: We’ve been wearing this one for months, and I was excited to discover today that it’s on sale! Such a sweet number to wear year-round and a great time to grab it for a deal. (I feel like it’s going to be perfect for the Fourth of July this summer, too!)

Newer Men’s Boots + Newer Men’s Jacket: Mitch’s rain gear is from a couple of seasons ago, but had to include him in at least a couple of pics! I’ve linked his current favorites here, though. :)
