One of the best kept secrets about the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is that tons of amazing (current!) products are discounted right before the big event begins. So today, I’m showcasing eight (EIGHT!) “sale outfits” for you–all shoppable right now. (No waiting, and everything ships for free!)
Okay, so I’m wearing a few old (out of stock) and non-sale items because you know. ;) But MOST of what you see here is on sale, and that’s pretty fun!
Also, some added fun: simply comment in the comment section below for an extra chance to win $100 to shop the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, which goes live tomorrow. Here’s my guide to shopping it as well as the original giveaway; be sure to comment on that post for an entry, too. Winner will be announced in Thursday morning’s post! Btw: Say whatever you’d like in the comment section, haha… just make sure it’s PG and relatively nice. And leave your email in the following non-spammy format so I can get in touch with you: kelly [at] kellyinthecity [dot] com. Good luck!
Photographing these sale outfits was an absolutely hilarious experience. We had Emma with us, so you’ll see her pop up in some of the photos. She had her little pink car, her baby doll, and a few other toys… and we basically shot as quickly as we could while singing and dancing and playing with her. Interesting lives we lead, eh? ;)
But let’s get to those Nordstrom Sale Outfits!
Tassel Peasant Top / White Skinny Jeans / Brown Cross Strap Sandals
Sizing info: I would say that all three products run TTS! I took an XS in the top, which is what I’d normally order for a flowy shirt; a 25 in the jeans, which is what I usual wear in designer denim; and an 8 in the sandals, because I normally wear a 7.5 and the shoe only comes in whole sizes. (As you can see, they fit perfectly, so if you’re a half size, just go up!) Can’t believe the price point on the Citizens of Humanity jeans! And the sandals are SO comfy for such a steal. The top reminds me of Rebecca Taylor, who I adore. ;)
Navy Polka Dot Dress / Tory Burch Navy Bag / Red Strappy Sandals (You can also find them at J.Crew.)
Obsessed with this dress! This sounds ridiculous, but I love navy polka dot pieces, and they’re really hard to find. This wrap dress is incredible, though. It has a no-show button at the very top so you don’t have to worry about the wrap portion coming undone. (If you’re like me, I have trouble holding up wrap dresses, so they’re usually a no-go.) I also love the ruffles at the bottom! Easily dressed up or down.
Bee Skirt (Also available at Boden.) / Perfect Tee / Current Favorite Black Sale Sandals (Mine are old.) / Bag c/o (Woven totes on sale here.)
I couldn’t resist with this one. :) It’s absolutely adorable and a true conversation-starter. Also reminds me of Charleston for some reason. Sigh…
White Lace Dress / Tory Burch Navy Bag / Tory Burch Wedges (And love these Tory Burch Pumps!)
Little white (lace) dresses are my jam for summertime events or nights out. I love this sale one! It fits TTS and I’m able to move comfortably in it. It’s also such a bargain!
As for the bag, GET IT. A great navy crossbody is hard to find–especially one that you can wear casually but also to weddings. You’ll be sure to see this one on the blog for years to come!
Navy Striped Dress / Leather Tote / Block Heel Sandals (Flat version here.)
Love this take on the navy-and-white striped dress. Those balloon sleeves?! Too cute! I’m wearing the XS, btw. The dress is extremely well made, and the material is a bit heavier than I was expecting. (In a good way!)
And the tote?! One of the blog best-selling products, yet I only just bought it! I trusted you guys, though, and went for it… and I’m so glad I did! It’s super soft, has multiple compartments, and comes with a crossbody strap if you need it. :) It’ll definitely be a staple this fall!
Striped Dress / Tory Burch Navy Bag / Leather Sandals
Couldn’t resist with this striped number. I love the sash around the waist, and how it looks with low-heeled sandals. FYI: I’m wearing a size 2, but I wish I’d gone down to the 0. It’s a little big in the top.
Lacey Cardigan / Brown Cross Strap Sandals / Favorite Dark Jeans / Leather Tote / Camisole
This cardigan is slightly out of character for me, but I’ve always been a big fan of Free People, and it reminded me of all those crocheted bags I’ve loved so much this summer! I paired it with a camisole and my favorite jeans. (They’re not on sale but TOTALLY worth the splurge. So soft, don’t stretch out throughout the day, and maintain their color.)
Navy Striped Jersey Maxi Skirt / White Tee / Jack Rogers (Still on major sale!) / Tory Burch Navy Bag
Last but not least, a navy striped maxi skirt in a jersey material! I get so many questions about my old one from J.Crew that is unfortunately no longer available… but this one is even better. I love the little bow at the middle, the one-sided slit that makes walking far easier, and the fact that I didn’t have to hem it. (I’m around 5’5, for reference.) Works great with Jacks, which are still on sale, btw. Nab ’em on sale while you can! (I’m wearing an XS in the skirt, btw.)
