Anyway, Mitch and I pulled an all-nighter and compiled what we hope is a very helpful guide to shopping the sale! It was tough, and we’re pretty exhausted today… and we’ll likely hit the hay around 7:30 tonight when Emma does. 😂 Lots of laughs, though, and I have to admit that we did have fun. I also love how it came out! I seriously went through every single product (!) and curated “best of” collections in the categories of shoes, denim, outerwear, sweaters, bags & accessories, tops, dresses, men’s, kids, and stuff for the home. Mitch created all the Photoshop spreads you see below because I’m Photoshop-challenged, and he linked most everything. A true team effort! :)
A few things before we get to the spreads:
- I am buying a LOT this year, mostly so I can create a ton of awesome content (with sizing info and reviews) that will help guide your purchases. The plan is to pick three products from each category, and feature them over the next couple of weeks on the blog. I’m excited, and I hope you are, too! (Don’t worry, though. There will be a lot of other non-sale posts as well.) Want to know what I’m buying today? This information is in the color red under each spread. Look for “in my cart.”
- Would I buy this much if I didn’t have this site? HECK NO. I’d look at my closet and decide what holes I needed to fill for my fall and winter wardrobes, and I would stick to a budget. Just something to remember when you see my purchases popping up on the blog! No one should go broke during this sale. 😂 Yes, there are many shiny, pretty things. But just pick a few. Remember what happened to Ariel when her father discovered how much crap she was stockpiling?! DON’T BE ARIEL. That didn’t make any sense, but I also didn’t get any sleep last night, so let’s pretend it did.
- Will I keep all of my purchases? No, because I don’t truly need all of it. I will keep some things, but others will be consigned, donated, and given to family and friends. I also plan on giving you guys some of it–like how I do those Friday giveaways every once in a while! (Probably the one-size-fits-all stuff.)
- Remember that if you don’t qualify to shop “Early Access,” you can shop some amazing sale products RIGHT HERE. :) Nordstrom adds great stuff to its regular sale section right before the Anniversary Sale, and it’s a wonderful way to grab fabulous in-season stuff that you can wear now. There’s so much goodness. Just take my Burberry jacket, for example! It almost never gets discounted. Definitely worth checking out. I did a post featuring eight (EIGHT) sale outfits that anyone can shop, so jump on that!
- Don’t freak out. Nordstrom restocks lots of products when “Public Access” begins, so if certain things sell out before you can get to them, you’ll likely have a shot at scoring them during that time.
- Be sure to tune back in over the weekend. I’ll be putting up new sale-related posts, and you won’t want to miss them! (One of them will be pretty funny.)

These jeans deserve their own highlight because they’re AMAZING! I’ve owned mine for a year, and they’re my most worn pair. They run totally TTS, btw. I took them in a 25, which is what I normally wear.
