A couple of weekends ago, Mitch and I flew out to Chicago to visit Mitch’s family. I didn’t post any outfits on KITC while I was away because 1) I was too busy having fun and 2) I wore the same thing pretty much every single day. Mitch’s family is in the middle of building a lake house, so we spent most of our time on the site.
I call this my “construction uniform.” (Which is funny, considering I did zero manual labor. All I did was walk around a lot, play with my niece and nephew, and help decide where to put electrical outlets.) Sure, I changed it up a little from day to day, but this is basically it. Every getup incorporated most of the following: warm boots, leggings, chambray shirt, sweater, puffer vest, fleece, and a little bit of bling. (Because why not? ;))

But back to the house. Granted, it’s several months out from being finished, but I’m absolutely in love with it! I can’t wait until April, which is its projected completion date. In the meantime, I’ll be daydreaming about kayaking, swimming, cookouts, movie nights, celebrations, and creating amazing memories with family. (I’m insanely lucky to have such wonderful in-laws. I view Mitch’s family–and his extended family–as my own.) Can’t wait to head back to Illinois for Christmas! The holidays can’t come soon enough. :)
Looks like you had a great time! Love your “construction uniform”!

What a beautiful family! Your construction uniform is pretty much my weekend uniform! I love chambray. Which puffer vest do you own? I was thinking about getting the J.Crew one.

I love that your “construction outfit” is cuter than most of my everyday wear lol.
