Kelly’s J.Crew Factory Camel “Schoolboy” Blazer (Love the sweater blazer version, too), Jeans, Button-Down Shirt (here’s another classic must-have shirt), Leopard Flats (Also love this pair as well as the slides, the heels and the boots) & Tortoise Headband / Emma’s Corduroy Skirt, Quilted Vest and Similar Striped Top / Mitch’s Fisherman Sweater, Navy Pants and Gingham Button-Down Shirt c/o J.Crew Factory

Having both been teachers, I think August will always remind Mitch and me of back-to-school shopping. ;) And while I didn’t think we’d “feel it” this year, we do. Emma is soon going to start a three- to four-hour PeeWee program, and before we know it, the leaves will be falling once again and we’ll be transitioning our wardrobes.

I blog about J.Crew Factory often because I love how the brand really seems to be returning to that timeless, preppy style I love so much. And right now, there are three amazing promotions going on:

  • The Stock-Up Event: Use code “TOOCOOL” to take 20 percent off two items, 30 percent off three items, and 40 percent off four items. Shipping is free!
  • Back-To-School Giveaway: Ten winners will receive $100 gift cards, and one winner will receive $2,500 in cash. (Such a great opportunity; be sure to enter!)
  • Student and Teacher Discount: Get an extra 15 percent off with valid student or teacher ID. (This was so helpful when we taught!)

Love that the whole family is wearing Factory in this blog post, and I can’t get enough of these snaps. But a few notes about what I’m wearing:

Camel blazer: A good camel blazer is hard to find. 😉 It sounds silly, but it’s so true! Much like the elusive camel coat, there’s usually only one I love every season, and this one is fabulous… and a steal! My one bit of advice is to go up a size if you need some extra room in the shoulder area. I did that, and I feel like I can bend over and move far more easily because of it! Anyway, I love the little gold buttons near the wrists, and the fact that I can roll the sleeves for a more laid-back look. I also love how the blazer makes casual outfits (like jeans + a t-shirt) look polished, and that it adds some warmth for cooler summer nights.

Skinny jeans: Couldn’t recommend this pair of jeans more. They’re very comfy, yet they have a bit more substance to ’em compared to my other skinny jeans (which are more like leggings). And while they aren’t high-rise jeans, I think they give off the appearance of a higher cut, especially when part of your top is tucked in! They elongate the legs, for sure. (They run TTS, btw.)

Striped button-down: This is a basic that every girl needs in her closet–not just for fall, but for all seasons! This one is perfect; I love how it it easily tucks into my jeans and the fact that it’s not constantly becoming un-tucked. It’ll also go with nearly everything, and I’ll be wearing it well into fall and winter. (Note: I usually go up a size in button-downs because I like them slightly oversized, but with this one, I ordered my usual size because I found it to run slightly large and I wanted to be able to wear the blazer over it. Worked out well!)

Leopard flats: Leopard is a neutral, am I right?! My most-worn shoes every fall are those that feature the classic leopard print, so I went for this pair, and couldn’t be happier. I bent them in my hands a few times before wearing them, and they gave me zero trouble! Aren’t the pointed toes to die for? I also love this similar pairthe slides, the heels and the boots.
