New York City’s weather has been wonderfully crisp over these past few days, and it (of course) has me daydreaming about the holidays. I love the time of year we’re about to enter. I mean, sure. We still have Halloween in front of us, but Mitch and I will be on a plane to Chicago to visit his family that day. So as far as I’m concerned, we’re just skipping it. (Except we do have a Halloween party next weekend. Can I just go as Sally Draper from Mad Men? Maybe I’ll go as a lumberjack, that way I can wear jeans, a flannel button-down, and boots. Great. It’s settled. ;))
Dress: Julie Brown Designs (c/o) / Necklace: c/o Lisi Lerch (c/o) / Pumps: Ralph Lauren (Sold out), but dying over these scalloped, glittery pumps. (Someone who can wear four-inch heels without killing herself… buy them!) Also loving this pair by Kate Spade, and this pair by Nina. / Belt: Lilly Pulitzer (Sold out), but super similar here! And dying over this tortoise Kate Spade bow belt. (Swoon.) Skinnier bow belts in black, white and pink, too! / Bag: Kate Spade (Sold out), but loving this newer K.S. bow bag (perfect for the holidays, right?!) / Bracelet: Julie Vos via Tuckernuck (c/o) / Lipstick: Clinique / Earrings: J.Crew, less expensive version here
Anyway, I can’t wait for holiday celebrations. I can’t wait to attend events at the Manhattan restaurants and bars that adorn every square inch of their ceilings with garland and ornaments. I can’t wait to take the train out to Long Island to see Dad’s side of the family. (My aunt has the most adorable house, and I aspire to be the decorator that she is!) I can’t wait for holiday celebrations with my high school friends and New York City friends. I can’t wait to drive up to Vermont the Friday that school gets out and spend Christmas with my husband, parents, brothers, Grammie, aunt, uncle and cousins. And I can’t wait to drive out to Illinois shortly thereafter and have another Christmas morning with the most wonderful in-laws (and brothers-in-law and sister-in-law and niece and nephew and aunts and uncles and grandmother and grandfather) a girl could ever wish for.
Okay. I know I’m getting ahead of myself. But I’m a planner. And I love holiday outfits. It’s the one time of year that everything is sparkly and glitzy and magical, and it’s every fashion-obsessed girl’s time to “shine.” Which is precisely why I’ve fallen in love with this adorable Julie Brown holiday dress. Hopefully my friends and family miss this post because I plan on wearing it pretty often this year. But seriously. How perfect is it?! Julie Brown does it again.
And to be fair, I did warn you that you’d be seeing my new favorite Lisi Lerch necklace (conveniently named the “Kelly Necklace”) repeatedly this week. ;) But yeah. Here it is again! Love it as much as I do? Enter the giveaway below!
