I’m off having a great time celebrating Mitch’s birthday (so many photos and stories to follow!), but for now, I’ll share my favorite Daniel Wellington watches. I love how simplistic, classic and preppy the brand is, and I adore my new watch. Use code “Kellyinthecity” to take 15 percent your order now until the end of October!

I also love the story behind the Daniel Wellington brand. While traveling abroad, founder Filip Tysander met a man who had amazingly classy, timeless and preppy style, yet maintained a relaxed and unpretentious demeanor. The man, who bore the name Daniel Wellington, wore a beautiful watch on a old, weathered NATO strap (which originated from the British navy). Since the two formed a close friendship, there was no question in Tysander’s mind that his company–inspired by Wellington–would bear his friend’s name.
The best part of Daniel Wellington, in my opinion, is that the gorgeous watches are affordable ($135 to $199), and the faces are interchangeable. Leather straps–made of genuine italian quality leather–are only $65, and NATO straps are priced from $29 to $35. I have my eye on this one. ;)(Oh! And DW offers free shipping on all watches.)
