This is your little kick in the rear to get dressed today! ☺️ I touched upon this in a recent post, but putting on regular clothing in the morning sure makes a difference in my outlook. It also makes me look far more professional during work-related conference calls 😉, and I’m less embarrassed when I see my neighbors over the fence or FaceTime with family and friends, haha. But seriously! Wearing pajamas or leggings or whatever for a few weeks is lovely, and it certainly brought me comfort in the beginning. But embracing what we can from our former lives is clutch right now, and this a somewhat easy habit to start forming!

Side note: I know I keep talking about this, but FORMAL FRIDAY, GUYS. Haven’t done it yet, but let’s make BUSINESS CASUAL WEEKDAYS a thing, too! Or at least REAL PANTS/JEANS WEEKDAYS. Why am I yelling? (Also, if you’re an essential worker, please let me say thank you right now. For everything. For putting your life on the line; for keeping our country up and running; and for saving lives, whether directly or indirectly. You’re heroes, and we’re all indebted to you.)

We snapped these photos yesterday right after one of my “work shifts,” as Mitch and I are calling them. (We try to switch on and off so each of us gets a two-hour work period during the day. It’s not great, and my small business is definitely feeling the effects. But it’s something, and I’m extraordinarily grateful to be in this position!)

The jeans are the real hero of this outfit. (50 percent off; discount applied at checkout.) I’ll admit that it took me a long time to get on board with the whole wide leg/high-rise jeans look, but I’m now ALL IN. I can’t get over how much more flattering the high-rise cut is, and the wide leg seems to make quite the statement because every time I wear a pair, friends and family are like, “Oooohlala! Kelly! Those pants!” Seriously. It happened when Mitch and I were FaceTiming with Jess and Neal the other night, haha. And then with my parents! So yeah. These are good jeans. I highly recommend.

And yes: Everything looks good tucked into them, they make your waist look great, and they have the preppiest sailor buttons up the front. And you don’t have to worry about hemming them because they’re cropped! (Which means ankle-length on my 5’4 frame, but I’m very good with that.) They also run true to size, so there’s no guesswork.

Next, the sweaters.
