My first friend ever—AnneMarie, from my Air Force Kid days—came to visit for a few days, and it was just wonderful. We caught up over lunch at Pizzeria Portofino on the Chicago River while the girls were at school, as catching up with the girls around doesn’t usually work. 😜
It was really nice. I loved hearing about her life with her husband on their beautiful property in Nevada, where wild horses roam and they have expansive views of the snow-capped mountains from their backyard. It feels like we live in totally different worlds, yet the four of us are so similar!
I wore this classic pima cotton crewneck sweater made in Peru by Shit That I Knit, one of the Larkin Family’s favorite brands. STIK is a female-owned and -operated company that employs more than 400 Peruvian artisans who earn fair wages to handcraft designs. Materials are ethically sourced, too! The sweater is so soft, and I love the simplicity of the design yet how the stripes spark some interest because of the chunky kit. It’s is fitted, so I went with the small—but I think I could have gone with the medium as well!
Don’t know what to wear? Go classic and you can’t fail. 😉
