Okay, I must start by calling attention to Lucy, who is pictured below eating my hair. Mitch and I didn’t notice it at the time, but I cracked up when I stumbled upon the photo while putting this post together. 😂 #momlife, right?
Anyway, I’m back with another festive and practical holiday outfit (from J.Crew!), perfect for those of us who live in colder climates and/or run after littles on the reg. ☺️ Here are a few products I want to highlight today:
Blackwatch Plaid Pants: I bought these the day that they came out on the site, haha. LOVE. Hook-and-eye closure pants usually don’t feel great on me these days because I have wider hips since having kids. But these are high-waisted, and they WORK! They sit at just the right spot and they’re truly comfy and very flattering. (They feature J.Crew’s famous four-season stretch, which is a super comfortable fabric that doesn’t bag out. They also have “Perfecting Pockets,” which are designed to smooth and hold you in.) In terms of fit, I found that they run completely true to size. Oh, and I should mention that even though they’re wool, they’re not itchy at all because they’re lined. Such a nice touch!
Black Cable-Knit Cashmere Sweater: This is one of my most-worn sweaters. It’s incredibly soft and warm, but it also looks fantastic paired with dress pants and skirts. I typically reach for it over blouses in the winter because of this! Re: sizing, I usually order my sweaters in a size small, but I went down to an XS for a more tailored look as I tend to tuck this one in partially or all the way. (Btw: I also have J.Crew’s cable-knit cashmere sweater in the camel and white colors since it’s so versatile! It’s beautiful, and I’ve had mine for a long time! They definitely hold up and stand the test of time.)
Blackwatch Plaid Bow Pumps: These shoes scream Kelly Larkin. ;) Much like the pants, I ordered them the moment I spotted them on the site. They’re perfect! And while they look fantastic with dressier looks, they also look awesome with jeans. A great way to add a little festive flair to your holiday looks, even if your celebrations are more casual! I also love that they feature a low block heel for maximum comfort. If you’re head over heels–see what I did there? 😜–for the bow pumps as well, be sure to check out these, these, these and these, too. (Note: The bow pumps run TTS. I normally wear a size 7.5, and I took these in a 7.5 as well.)
Pave Link Bracelet: I’ve had this for the longest time! Before I was married, actually. :) I love that over the years, I always go back to it. I don’t have a lot of statement pieces in my jewelry box anymore, but barring a burglary by my three-year-old daughter, I know this bracelet will be in there for the long haul. It makes simple outfits feel more polished and pairs perfectly with all my holiday looks! It also makes for a great gift. (And it keeps babies entertained for a looooong time. 😉 So sparkly!)
