Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

Cable-knit throws here, here and here / Emma is wearing an old Mini Boden dress

Guys, the Larkin family is super proud of this post, haha. It was a serious group effort, and everyone played a role. I went shopping and shot the photos 😉; Emma and Noodle posed, smiled and looked cute for the pics; and Mitch did all the Photoshopping and formatting. Yassss, Fam Bam! Look at us go!

With the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale coming to an end (prices go back up on Monday!), I thought I’d feature some of my favorite home products that are majorly discounted.

Before we get to that, though, let’s do the whole question of the day thing! To enter to win a $200 Nordstrom e-gift card, simply comment in the comment section below with your answer. Note: You can enter multiple times, but only once per blog post. (We always make it very clear which blog posts are eligible for a giveaway entry. It’s even usually in red!) Second note: Previous posts–anything from July 21st on–are also fair game. Simply tell us something interesting about yourself in your comment (or whatever — we really don’t care 😂), and include “**Second Giveaway**” in the first line so we know it’s a new entry.

The new winner will be announced/contacted on Saturday, August 5th at 10 p.m. CT, that way she has enough time to shop the Anniversary Sale before prices go back up on August 7th. But if she’s out partying until the wee hours of the morning and doesn’t see our message, it’s all good. (Honestly, I applaud her, and am a little jealous of her.) She can use the e-gift card to shop after the sale, too!

Mitch’s question of the day

What’s something you love about your home, and what’s something you’d like to (eventually) improve about it?

Mitch’s answer: I love our master bedroom. When our house flooded, we lived without a comfortable place to sleep for a year. I really value that thing! Something I’d like to eventually improve is our front stoop and door. They’re falling apart, but it just isn’t a priority yet. (You can see our master bathroom reveal here; still working on a master bedroom post.)

Kelly’s answer: Our living room! We renovated it right before Emma was born, and while it was stressful, I’m so glad we did, as it’s the center of our home. We spend so much time there–especially in the winter–and it’s really functional. Something I’d like to eventually improve is our very yellow kitchen. I’d like to paint the cabinets white and replace the countertops!

Blankets

Blankets

One / Two / Three / Four / Five / Six / Seven / Eight / Nine

To be very honest, I forget which one we have. It’s either nine or five. But I LOVE this thing, and I can’t believe it’s included in the sale! I know… It’s hard to imagine wanting a cable-knit throw in August. But I swear to you: it’s magical. It’s beyond adorable, and it serves as a great “prop” blanket for holiday photos, haha. Some of our most treasured Christmas photos include this blanket! I think this one is gorgeous, too, and everyone who lives in Chicago–or some place that has similar winters–needs a fur throw. (Life changing, Friends. Life changing.)

Rugs

Rugs

One / Two / Three / Four / Five / Six / Seven / Eight / Nine

I’m really into cute rugs for our bathrooms and kitchens and right now, so when I saw this one, I swooped it up. I really wanted one or two, but we’ve been through the whole blue-and-white rug thing before, and let’s just say that we are not a family that can handle rugs with giant white stripes on ’em. Maybe once Emma is all grown up and off to college. Though let’s be serious: we couldn’t handle it even before we had a toddler. (Can’t believe she’s a toddler!)

I’m also in the market for a new rug for Emma’s room. We need something a lot darker that can handle more foot traffic. Maybe this one?!

Bedding

Bedding

One / Two / Three / Four / Five / Six / Seven

Holy goodness. Bedding game STRONG, Nordstrom. Quick, buy these lobster sheets before everyone else does. SO CUTE! I’ve also had this quilt since college, and it remains a favorite. Ultimate preppiness, and the best blanket for family movie nights.

Pillows

Pillows

One / Two / Three / Four / Five / Six / Seven / Eight / Nine / Ten / Eleven / Twelve / Thirteen / Fourteen

The matching accent pillow! I actually think I used to own this, but I probably lost it in my 10+ moves around New York during my 20s. Ah, well. Love the cable knit pillow, the rope pillow, and number nine. But I think Mitch’ll kill me if I introduce any new pillows to our home. Anyone else constantly fighting her significant other about accent pillows?! They make our home cozier, Mitch. COZIER!

Misc

Misc

One / Two / Three / Four / Five / Six

Some random stuff here, but I want to be the kind of girl who packs her picnics in adorable baskets.  Also, need a beach house stat so I can hang this guy. And I’m having serious regrets about the garbage pails I selected for our home. A marble one?! ;)
