Going into the holidays this year, one of the first things I did was start planning fun activities and crafts for Emma and Lucy. I wanted to be sure I had plenty of educational and entertaining games to keep them occupied over the Christmas break. So if you’re also looking for some fun activities to do with your kids over Christmas, I’ve rounded up 12 amazing games and crafts for you. I’ve included a mix of projects that can be done as a family and activities and games they’ll be able to play with on their own.

24 Sleeps til’ Christmas Activity Book: It may be a little late for this advent calendar activity book, but it’s just too cute not to include. It counts down the days to Christmas with puzzles, coloring pages, carols, and even recipes for each day leading up to the 25th.

Spirograph: We have a full-size and travel version of this, and it’s a big hit!

Solar System Activity Set: I’ve shared this before, but I’m sharing it again because it’s just that good! This solar system activity was our second set from this brand and has provided hours of entertainment and learning. For this activity, the kids paint all of the planet foam half balls and then stick them onto the extra-long poster of the solar system. Emma loved this activity especially!

Wooden Bead Bracelet Kit: This is such a cute bracelet kit, and I love the little wooden charms that come with it.

DIY Building Kit: This feels like another activity that will be hours of fun for kids. The kit has all kinds of different wooden planks, bolts, even a screwdriver so they can build anything from cars to airplanes over and over again!

Snowman Build Buddies: Your kids get to build a snowman out of putty and use the accessories that come with the kit, like carrots and branches, to decorate their snowman.

Crayola Scrubbie Pets Set: These are ridiculously fun. I love that there are two activities in one – decorating the pets and then washing them in the bath.

The Magic School Bus Chemistry Lab: This would be a fun family hands-on learning activity. This lab kit includes science projects like making sticky ice, bubble sculptures, slime, an exploding volcano, and much more.

LCD Writing Tablet for Kids: These are super affordable, and the girls adore them. This brand is my favorite because the writing instrument is attached, so there is no way they can lose it haha.

Water Magic Activity Book: I had to throw in one activity that’s great for travel because chances are you’ll be spending some time in a car or on a plane during the holidays. It’s mess-free, and as long as you have a small bottle of water, you’re good to go. Check out this post for a few of our other favorite travel activities.

DIY Snow Globe Kit: This feels like a great family project to do together during that weird in-between time from Boxing Day to New Year’s.

Model Magic Clay: This provides hours of entertainment! Kids can make all sorts of things out of this model magic clay, and there is way less mess than playdough or kinetic sand. Store in an airtight container, or let the kid’s clay sculptures dry out to turn it into another activity where they can paint them.
