I’m loving living in the East Village again, even if it’s only for a month. One of the best parts of living here is our proximity to Union Square. It’s always been one of my favorite areas of the city. It’s crazily lively, and attracts people from all walks of life. From the skateboarders and artists to the professionals rushing about and young mothers strolling their children through the Greenmarket, everyone is so different. It’s a chaotic place, but I adore it. It’s where I wandered around on lunch breaks during my first year of employment in New York City, and it’s where I’d meet my father for father/daughter dinner nights when I was homesick or just missed Dad. It’s where I scored my first Tory Burch bag (albeit a fake one), and it’s where Mitch asked me out. It’s where you’ll find the best gyros in the city (from street vendors!) and the cheapest groceries (all hail Trader Joe’s). And if that’s not good enough for you, it’s right next to Fifth Avenue! So next time you visit New York City, park yourself on the steps along 14th Street, and take it all in.
By the way: living out of a suitcase for an extended period of time is difficult, isn’t it?! I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve unpacked everything just to find one little thing. Just a warning, as I’ll probably be looking more and more disheveled as the month progresses. ;)
Skirt: J.Crew Factory (Sold out), but ready for a an adorable royal blue wool skirt for the fall? :) / Necklace: Kate Spade / Button-down: J.Crew / Bag: C.Wonder (Also available in the mini version–And don’t forget to monogram it!) / Pumps: Kenneth Cole (On crazy sale!) / Watch: Kate Spade, also available in white/silver, black, gold (bracelet style), and silver (bracelet style) / Lipstick: Clinique / Bracelet: Kate Spade / Earrings: J.Crew, less expensive version here / Sunnies: Kate Spade
I wanted this skirt so badly but my J Crew Factory sold out of my size before I could get my hands on it! :( Loving the wool skirt you posted so I just might have to snatch that up before my size sells out! :)
Jessie,
Oh no! But I’m lovin’ that wool skirt, too. Can’t help but start to get excited about fall fashion. (Even though I’ll regret saying this come November. ;))

OK, first of all, reading this post was not good for me. All I want to do is move to NY!!! My husband does not support this. Second, I have that skirt but in the orange and pink combo and I love it!! It looks great with the gingham (and now I totally want to wear my gingham shirt with my skirt!) Third, I need that bag. I thought that when I saw your instagram post. I love all things monogrammed. Love love this!

Awww, Nikki!
First of all, you never cease to put a smile on my face. Thank you so much!! Oh, man. TOTALLY understand!! My problem is that I can’t even bear the thought of leaving one day. (It’s not exactly the kind of place you can raise a family in if you’re not a gazillionaire, hehe.) Next time you visit, though, let’s meet up and do it up! :)
Thanks again, Nikki!
xoxo
