We’re headed back to Chicago today, and I have mixed feelings about it. ;)

I’m SO excited to get back in our home… and to see the design progress on the top floors. (The master, office and girls’ rooms are being painted as we speak!) At the same time, though, I don’t want our vacation to end. It’s been so good for our family! A fabulous excuse to slow down and appreciate the little things.

Remember how I said that I broke my iPhone and therefore would only be snapping pics with my mirrorless camera on this trip?WELP, turns out that I also forgot the charger for said mirrorless camera. 😂 Which was a bit of a bummer, haha, because I LOVE taking photos. But it brought me back to my film days, during which every press of the shutter release was calculated and thought-out, as battery life was already at half power. ;) But I love these photos for that very reason. No culling and sifting through hundreds of almost-identical photos; there simply was what there was on my camera card, and I noticed “imperfections” less. A great way to live one’s life if I really think about it!

So here are shots from our last day on Lake Bloomington. I love them, and I can’t wait to get back. (Also, is my mother-in-law not the most amazing interior decorator? Girlfriend needs a blog. 😉)
