As I mentioned in this recent post, the end of the year has certainly been rough for me. 😂 I’ve mostly been sleeping, resting, and drinking as much water as humanly possible… and I have started improving over the last couple of days. My fingers are crossed that I’ll be well enough to get on our flight on Friday, because all I want is to be cozied up at home at my parents’ for Christmas!
Have you heard of Lolë? Even before I got sick, I was living in it. A couple of months ago, the Montréal-based athletic apparel company sent us the nicest gear to get us through “busy season,” and I think it’s safe to say that I’m officially an athleisure convert.
Yes, Lolë–which stands for “Live Out Loud Every Day”–makes absolutely fabulous workout clothing, but they also carry gorgeous sweaters, dresses and coats that can be worn from day to night–all with an emphasis on comfort and movability. I love that my stuff works for nearly everything I do on an average day, whether I’m working from home, walking Noodle, running errands around the neighborhood, taking Emma to the playground, going to the gym, grabbing a casual dinner with the fam, or meeting up with girlfriends at night. And that it keeps me warm and cozy. Jess and Neal–our best friends here in Chicago, if you’re new to the blog–are HUGE fans of the brand, and I now truly understand why! (Btw: You can follow Lolë on IG here!)
Lolë Men’s Coats and Jackets
Before we get to what Mitch and I are wearing in this post, I should mention you can take 30 percent off your regular-priced Lolë order with code “KELLY30.” The offer is valid from 12/19 to 12/22 until 11:59pm ET for U.S. and Canadian customers. I’ve included our favorite products above!
Onward!
Cozy Cold Weather Staples
On Kelly:
Faith Jacket:
I feel like most puffers look the same, and once February rolls around, we’re all dying to trade them in for something a bit more exciting. This one, though, is different! Its quilting is beautiful, and in a sea of black puffers, its two-tone gray coloring makes me stand out. :)
A little bit more: The Faith Jacket is insulated with cruelty-free down, and it’s windproof and durable water-repellent. (It features Downglow Insulation 500, which means that it’s super light but also super warm, guaranteed to keep you toasty even when temps dip as low as 14 degrees F.)
It’s flattering, too. Most puffers make me look like the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, but the Faith is slimming… even when I’m pregnant! It has a two-way zipper and removable hood as well.
Cable-Knit Hat and Scarf Set:
I’m starting to sound like a broken record, but I have to say it again: good cable-knit products are hard to find! It was love at first sight when I saw this set, though. The hat is lined with fleece, which makes for no-itch wear, and I love that the set perfectly matches my puffer.
Flore Sweater:
I had SUCH a hard time picking just one sweater for these photos. But I ended up going with the Flore because the inside is actually a very light pink, which shows a bit when you roll the sleeves. Oh, and it’s wool, but so soft! I really can’t get over the softness. And that mock roll neck is pretty cute, too. ;)
Note: I also have the Martha Sweater and the Mika Dress, both of which are made from recycled plastic bottles!
Low-Rise Motion Leggings:
Yaaaaas. Okay, these aren’t maternity pants, but they’re my favorite pants right now–even with the bump! They’re Lolë‘s iconic leggings. They feature four-way stretch, and are UPF 50+, moisture-wicking, and lined with COOLMAX® ALL SEASON: a material with a unique fiber structure that transports moisture away from the body to keep you cool and dry on hot days and warm on colder ones. (Btw: They’re also eco-friendly, as they’re OEKO-TEX® certified.) And I really appreciate the fact that they don’t have tons of seams on them like most athletic leggings do, because that means I can wear them “out” as well.
On Mitch:
Long-Sleeved Top:
Mitch is wearing this under his crewneck sweatshirt, so it’s a bit hidden in these photos–but it’s a great layering piece! Made out of 100-percent certified cruelty-free merino wool, the top’s extremely fine fibers make it extra warm but very soft and itch-free, too. It’s also stretchy and has built-in wicking, temperature control, and odor resistance. (Note: Lolë Men’s entire Carter Collection is certified by the Responsible Wool Standard. Check it out here!)
Crewneck Sweatshirt:
I LOVE Mitch in a crewneck sweatshirt, and this 100-percent cotton one is amazing. I love that it’s halfway between white and gray, and it’s incredibly cozy. When we’re on the couch at night, I snuggle right in.
“Raleigh” Jeans:
Mitch has a love/hate relationship with jeans. For whatever reason, he struggles to find pairs that are both comfortable and flattering. (His words. I think he looks great all the time. 😉) He tried skinny, he tried straight, he tried relaxed–and nada. But lo! We both agree that the Raleigh jeans look fantastic. I mean, leave it to an athletic apparel company to make a pair of good-looking comfy jeans, right? They’re tailored, not tight… and they have some stretch to ’em, which explains the comfort. (98 percent cotton and 2 percent lycra to help them keep their shape throughout the day.) I also think that the darker color–which we’d never tried before–makes for a more polished look!
Packable “Irving” Jacket:
And here’s the hero piece. It’s Lolë‘s best-selling packable puffer, insulated with cruelty-free down and totally ideal for the man who insists he can survive holiday travels to several different states with just a carry-on suitcase. ;) It’s so light that it packs right into a tiny pouch for space-saving, and can be hooked onto said carry-on. I love that it has a “peached finish” to its outer layer, making it feel smooth to the touch while remaining very functional: it repels rain, wind and snow! Oh, and I should note that he says it’s really warm, too. It has Downglow insulation 700!
Over and out, Friends! Hope you’re all surviving the “final push,” and getting excited for upcoming holiday celebrations. We can do this! :)
