J.Crew—clearly my #1—is killing it this season! Spring is a tough time of the year in most areas of the United States. Even in Mississippi, we had some chilly days!
But J.Crew to the rescue. I’ve noticed a real effort this year to offer products that’ll make you feel springy without having to tough it out. I’m such a fan of everything we picked out for these photos, and I’m excited to share why we love them so much!
Before I get to that, though, I should note that we took these photos while exploring the University of Southern Mississippi in Long Beach. The campus was pretty empty and so the girls had tons of space to run around and explore (those adorable pictures to come later, of course 😉) and Mitch and I loved taking in the sights. The university is across the street from the water! So beautiful.
But here are the details!
High-Rise Demi-Boot Cropped Jeans: My #1 secret when transitioning into a spring wardrobe is having a great pair of white jeans. White denim signals warmer weather even if it hasn’t quite arrived yet, and brightens everything up. This pair is particularly amazing. Wildly soft and flattering, and those buttons up the front add some depth to outfits. (If you’d prefer the non-button look, however, try this pair!) They run TTS, too.
Liberty Headband and Scarf: There’s nothing more springy than a good Liberty print! When we took these photos, it was actually very warm. (Which is why Emma’s in her Liberty dress without a jacket!) But for colder days, I simply opt for little touches of Liberty, whether that’s headbands, shoes, scarves or bags. And I really need to comment here that this year’s Liberty headbands are insanely comfortable. I’m normally someone who’s in pain less than an hour into wearing a headband. But this one is an absolute dream! I wore it several days on our trip from morning until night without any discomfort. I was astounded. A+ from me!
Silk-Blend T-Shirt (Cashmere version here): This is such an amazing top. It’s a t-shirt, but the material drapes beautifully and looks a lot nicer. It also provides more warmth. This is perfect for the girl who wants to look nice but also just wants to be in her favorite tee. (Hi. That’s me!) Runs TTS. I’m wearing the small in these photos.
Unstructured Ballet Flats: Can’t recommend these enough! Ballet flats usually kill my feet, but these are unstructured, meaning that the leather is kind of floppy—in the best possible way. There’s no break-in time, and I can walk miles in them without pain. A bonus? I can actually fit no-show socks under them, which makes them extremely versatile this time of year! TTS as well. The red gives neutral outfits an awesome pop, but the flats come in very versatile colors—like navy, black and brown—as well. (You’ll see the brown later this week on the blog!)
PrimaLoft Field Jacket: Who loves the Downtown Field Jacket?! I do, too; it’s such a classic. Now, though, J.Crew has a PrimaLoft version—which is perfect for colder temps. This was the only jacket I brought to Mississippi and it didn’t disappoint! Very warm yet looks springy. (I took it in an XS.)
Tote Bag (See all sizes here): THE CUTEST! I originally got a couple of Montauk totes for Emma and Lucy but then confiscated the size small, as it was a great day bag for the trip. There are so many sizes that there’s really something for everyone! Love that all come with little rings inside to attach bag straps, too.
Emma’s Liberty Dress (Adult version here) and Headband (Adult version here): I died when I found this. You’ll see photos of this later this week, but there’s a big bow in the back. So cute. Emma called it her princess dress while we were on the Gulf Coast, and I couldn’t agree more: You look like a princess in it, Emma! :)
