My bachelorette party is next weekend on Nantucket, and I’m beyond excited. I’m clearly going to spending a lot of time this week deciding what to pack. The island’s “dress code” is right up my alley. Super prepster all the time. What’s not to love?!
I love Nantucket. I’ve made quite a few trips there to visit my awesome cousins, who live on the tiny island during summers, so I have so many happy memories there. (The photos in this post are from a couple of my most recent trips.)
I really do have the best family in the world. My incredibly kind and generous aunt and uncle offered us their house for the weekend, as they won’t be on island until mid-June. How amazing are they?! I also have the best girlfriends in the world. Nantucket is far! Sarah (my future sister-in-law) is flying from the midwest, Beth and Tara (two of my best friends from college) are driving up to Cape Cod and ferrying over, and Darby (a New York City best friend) is flying from the Big Apple for a day. I’m so touched.
Another reason I’m ridiculously pumped is because I get to spend some quality time with my cousins, Sammy and Annie (my fabulous M.O.H.), who are on Nantucket early this year for their summer jobs. It means so much to me that I get to share the experience with them. While they’re my cousins, they’re also my best friends… and I love that. It doesn’t even feel like they’re younger than me! They’re so mature and accomplished! (Annie just graduated from college, and Sammy is going into her junior year.) I’m incredibly proud of them.
My cousins lead a pretty cool life on Nantucket during the summers. It seems like they know everyone. Their house is both walking distance to town (which has the best prepster shopping I’ve ever seen), and to the beach. Even their jobs are fun! They work as waitresses at an outside beach restaurant/bar. So jealous. ;) You can imagine how much fun I have with them while visiting! Can’t wait!
Anyway, stay tuned for a post about what would be inside my dream suitcase for this incredible trip to Nantucket. Warning: Get ready for a whole lot of prep. ;)
