Ugh. You know those days during which everything that could go wrong does go wrong? I’m having one of those days. I was given eight hours of work to complete in an hour, I dropped my sushi into my printer, my shoe fell into the toilet when I kicked the heck out of the lever thing (the toilets are always broken at school), I got yelled at by an NYPD officer for “being too aggressive” while trying to nab a parallel parking spot, and I got stuck in a massive rainstorm. Oh! And I dropped nail polish all over the bathroom floor. So now we have hot pink tiles. (Sorry, Mitch.)
I know. All of these things are stupid. And when I read the last paragraph back to myself, my day sounds pretty funny. Sigh. I normally don’t let these things get to me. But I’m stressed. I’m stressed about the little hassles that come along with city living, the never-ending amount of paperwork I have to complete for work (when I should be focused on teaching), my living situation, my inability to let my guard down at school, and my health. (Yet another sinus infection. My first since starting allergy shots, so that’s a victory at least.)
…I sound like quite the whiny little girl. Oh, well. That’s how I feel right now. Something tells me I should eat a good dinner, watch some TV with the husband, and get a good night’s rest. Everything seems better in the morning, right, Mom? :)
