I’m over-the-moon in love with our bedroom holiday “glow up,” as the kids say! I’ll do a bedroom refresh tour in January, when everything is done. (Still waiting on the rug and lamps… and I need to hang the mirror and pick out a black light fixture.) But I’m thrilled with the new paint (BM “Pale Oak”), and how it provides a neutral canvas for decorating. :) Here’s what our bedroom looked like before, in case you enjoy a solid before/after. Quite the difference, right?!

I teamed up with Gap Home to bring a little holiday cheer into our bedroom this year. I freaked out when I first heard that Gap Home had arrived at Walmart; I was a super fan of the company when I was a kid and teen, and the idea that there was now a home line, only at Walmart?! It was almost too much to handle. 😆 I’ve ordered several products for our home since its debut—favorites include this bath mat in khaki and this jersey comforter in blush—and I was thrilled when I was invited to do a little makeover with the brand this month. And since the line ships from Walmart, the collaboration was so fun and easy! Everything arrived on my doorstep within three days, and returns—a couple of shams I didn’t end up needing—were simple.

Here’s what I decided on:

Gap Home Olive Comforter Set: Yes to this! I initially had neutral bedding in my cart, and planned on making the space feel festive with a red throw blanket. But then I spotted this beautiful olive comforter and thought to myself, “YOLO.” So I went for it. And wow! First, so holiday. Second, still kind of neutral, somehow! I’ve learned that I don’t need everything to be white, cream, natural or black—I just love splashes of muted colors. And Gap Home does a great job with that! Note: I did need to steam this upon taking it out of the bag. I initially was like, “Oh no.” But it took all of five minutes with this thing. The wrinkles fell out insanely quickly. Just FYI!

Gap Home Washed Frayed Edge Organic Cotton Quilt: Something that really makes a bedroom feel cozy is layered bedding. Whenever I browse bedrooms on Pinterest for inspiration, I noticed quilt or extra duvet after the next at the bottom of the bed. I actually did this with the busy wallpaper version of our bedroom, but the quilt was literally the same pattern as the wallpaper and thus it ended up looking a little bit like Magic Eye puzzle. (Remember those?! 😆) This time, though, I went with a complementing color, and I love the contrast and homeyness the quilt brings to the space.

Gap Home Border Knots Pillow: I’d actually had my eye on this one since the summer, when I first spotted it. And let me tell you: It looks like one of those $200 designer pillows. Here’s the thing. Great interiors are seriously possible on a budget. Just gotta know where to look!

Gap Home Chunky Stripe Oblong Pillow: Another example of fabulous style for a fabulous price. I knew this would be perfect for an accent pillow—both for the holidays and year-round use.

Gap Home Mugs: I need to admit something. I have moved on from mug collecting. This is music to my husband’s ears, as we we admittedly had way too many, haha. I’ve kept some seasonal mugs but really we’re just using simple, go-with-everything mugs on a daily basis. And these Gap Home mugs work so well. Not only do they feature a simple design, they also stack! Which means they take up about a quarter of the space my old mug collection did. Thank you, Gap Home, and you’re welcome, Mitch!

Other products:

Nearly Natural Olive Wreath: Is this not PERFECT for the windows above our bed?! (Need to eventually hang some roman shades there but no one can see in so I’m clearly in no rush, haha.)

Nightstands: Can’t believe they’re still in stock! Ours are at least five years old. These don’t have the two bottom drawers but I think I like the design even more?!

Similar Cane Bed, Similar Jute Rug, Similar Rattan Bench, and Similar Beaded Chandelier: I can almost always find a product in the style I’m looking for at Walmart. Amazing!
