Sometimes simple fashion–and fashion that allows you to move–is the best kind of fashion. Today was busy! This morning, Mitch and I ran to LensCrafters so I could get new contacts. (I hate going to the eye doctor, so I’ve been putting it off for a long time.) There, I discovered I am blinder than a bat. ;) After that, we got Mitch a haircut and we met up with his parents for lunch. Then we went to Von Maur. Back on the East Coast, we don’t have this department store. But we should! It’s fabulous! The store carries everything, from Kate Spade to Marc Jacobs. Fun fact: Mitch’s mom used to be a buyer for Von Maur. Dream job. Swoon. ;)
At Von Maur, Mitch and I scored some cute silver stands for the many chalkboards we’ve made as wedding decorations. (I’ll have to post about that soon!) We’d been looking for them forever. Mitch’s mom also found a beautiful dress to wear to the wedding. Think Jackie O. I won’t spoil the fun by dishing the details, but she is going to look absolutely stunning! :) After Von Maur, we ran over to JoS. A. Bank to look at suits for the wedding. (Instead of renting tuxedos, the guys are purchasing suits for the same price. Sweet Suit deal! Ha. I’m a dork.) We ended up falling in love with a particular suit, so tomorrow we’re going to pull the trigger. What a successful wedding planning day!
Later, we had an amazing meal at a local Thai restaurant, and caught a movie at the old-fashioned theater in town. If you haven’t seen “Searching for Sugar Man,” the Academy Award-winning documentary about musician Sixto Rodriguez, go see it. What a fantastic tale! And with that, this little lady is off to bed. Tomorrow we’re headed out to the lake house!
