This afternoon, I headed downtown to the RedLight showroom to meet with my new (fabulous) friend, Matt. The gorgeous showroom–think exposed brick and sweeping views of the city–is right down the street from Madison Square Park, and overlooks Broadway. (Swoon.) There, I had a great time meeting the staff, and I fell in love with the Darling, an adorable brand launched by London-based designer Nadia Moraes.
Jeans: Lilly Pulitzer (Old), but currently lusting over these Lilly pants / Blazer: H&M / T-Shirt: Target (Definitely the softest t-shirt I own.) / Bag: c/o C.Wonder (More colors here. Larger version available here. And don’t forget to monogram!) / Bracelets: c/o Julie Vos via Tuckernuck and J.Crew / Watch: Marc Jacobs, also loving the teal, brown, rose gold, black, and multi-colored versions! / Pumps: Kenneth Cole (They’re baaack. I blame the closet explosion.) / Necklace: Kate Spade / Lipstick: Clinique / Earrings: J.Crew, less expensive version here / Sunnies: Kate Spade (available here via eBay)
I’m sure I’ve mentioned this before, but I’ve always felt that I’m truly a British girl trapped in an American’s body. I guess that’s why I’m obsessing over Darling, and its “quintessentially ‘English'” look. Plus the fact that the line is affordable! And available on Asos! (Yippee!) Anyway, you’ll be seeing me in quite a bit of Darling over the next few weeks. But for the time being, here are some shots of what I wore today. (In hindsight, perhaps the pants were inappropriate for work. But no one said anything. So maybe no one noticed? ;))
Oh. And guess what? After months of living out of a suitcase, and finally getting my own closet, my clothing rack COLLAPSED TODAY. Ugh. Perhaps I have too much clothing? ;) I am sufficiently annoyed. The rack was never anchored into the wall, I quickly learned! It was just screwed in there! Poor craftsmanship. We’ll see if management fixes it tomorrow. If not, I’ll be installing my own. And by that, I mean that I’ll be asking Dad to come over. (Loveeee you, Dad.)
I also must mention–and this is completely off-topic–that there is a man riding around my neighborhood on a bicycle dressed as Batman. And it’s been going on for a long time. Batman, I’m curious: how do you make a living? Are you sponsored? Are you independently wealthy, and trying to bring happiness to the neighborhood’s children? Are you crazy? Do you just like attention? What’s going on? Hoboken wants to know. I suppose I could Google this, but I’m going to bed. Over and out!
Actually, one last thing: I miss you, Erica. Like whoa. I know that the cheese is probably really good in Wisconsin, but there are taxis here that haven’t been kicked in ages.
And I haven’t painted my nails in over a month. (Seriously. In what box is the nail polish?! Ricky, I know unpainted nails is your pet peeve.)

Love love this outfit, you’re always so preppy and chic and definitely not afraid to play with patterns nor color. I really want to see the neighborhood batman now, maybe you can “accidentally” photograph him in one of your blog pictures in the back drop lol :)
Aw, thank you, Christine! Hahaha Batman is so funny. I don’t get it. Mitch says that he’s seen Spiderman, too. I seriously don’t know what’s going on. (Though it’s probably the same guy.)
LOVED your post today, by the way! Your bag?! The purple?! Adorable. Hope to see you soon, girl! :)
xoxo
Superbly gorgeous outfit, once again! Those pants are fabulous and I really loved the way you’ve matched the whole outfit.

Your writing style cracks me up; maybe you can snap a photo of batman next time? lol Really like the pants, I didn’t even realize it was full of lips haha AND yes, those shoes are back! Hopefully you’ll be able to get the rack fix, a girl with no clothing rack is like hell! =x
Hahaha… I am totally going to try to capture him. Watch for him on my Instagram. ;) FULL OF LIPS, yep! And I teach middle school. Whatever. ;) And guess what?! The rack was fixed today! Just have to wait for the paint to dry… ;) xoxo!

Thanks, Michelle! OMG–Isn’t it so soft?! I’ve worn it so many times that it’s starting to get ratty. But I’m trying to do what you’re doing, and stay away from Target. Haha! xoxo
Love this outfit, especially with the blazer. Also — batman is in your neighborhood?! Sounds kind of awesome.
Isn’t That Charming.
Hi Emily! Thank you so much! The blazer is from H&M and was all of $35… But it’s my absolute favorite. I love it! Batman IS awesome. Hehe.

Thank you, Nikki! You’re so sweet! :) xoxo!
Now this is my kind of outfit: colorful, chic, and comfy! Hah I don’t know that those jeans would quite fly in my uber boring corporate office but oh gosh, I would wear the heck out of those on the weekends! :)
Also, 6 year old me is totally jealous that you get to see Batman riding around everyday! I have so many questions for him too now!
J. Parker, you always make my day. :) Hahaha I don’t think these jeans would fly ANYWHERE, but there’s something wrong with me, and my coworkers know it. Haha.
By the way, totally trying to track Batman down and set things straight. ;) Happy Wednesday! :)
xoxo
Love this look, its a great combo of dressy and casual. Those pants are super cute.
