I love button-downs. (Seriously. You should see my closet. I have a problem.) I wear them constantly, and I depend on them–especially the cozy and soft ones–to get me through those mornings when I just can’t bear the thought of getting into a dress or skirt. They’re easy and versatile, and require only about 30 seconds of ironing. (Score.) But I all too often fall victim to repeating the same look over and over with these shirts. Which is why I’m loving the Crystal Flake Collar Necklace from Benevolent Jewels! The piece, which I’ve been eyeing for a while, was a total outfit pick-me-up today. But I also plan on wearing it to (pretty much every) holiday celebration over the upcoming weeks. Long live the affordable statement necklace!
Necklace: Benevolent Jewels (c/o) / Faux leather leggings: Dex via Piperlime (Last year’s), current here, and similar here / Top: J.Crew (Sold out), identical Factory version here (Use code “EARLYBIRD” for extra discounts!), and loving this chambray popover! (Take 25 percent off with code “WINTER.”) / Booties: Chinese Laundry (LOVE these. I can actually walk around NYC for hours in them. This is a rarity!) / Watch: Michael Kors / Bracelets: J.Crew and Julie Vos c/o Tuckernuck / Bag: Kate Spade (On sale!) / Blazer: C.Wonder (Sold out), but love the J.Crew Schoolboy Blazer! (Use code “WINTER” to take 25 percent off.) / Sunglasses: Kate Spade / Earrings: J.Crew, cheaper version here / Lipstick: Clinique (in “Pudgy Peony.”)
But back to life. :) After work today, I headed to Midtown to explore the showroom for a couple of designers I’ve been crazed about lately: McGinn Collection and Harlyn (also available at Anthropologie). So looking forward to featuring a bunch of the brands’ spring 2014 collection pieces on Kelly in the City over the next week or so. Stay tuned!
