On the night that these pictures were taken (Tuesday), Mitch and I wandered around Hoboken in a state of complete and utter bliss. We moved across the river to the “Boken,” as we refer to it ;), less than eight months ago, so we haven’t yet been able to experience the fabulous community much during the warmer months. Well, spring has sprung, and it’s never been better to be a Hoboken resident!

We first walked down Washington Street, the main drag in town, looking at all the beautiful brownstones listed for sale in real estate office windows. (Daydreaming is seriously one of my favorite pastimes. ;)) It’s amazing how different Washington is when the temperature rises above 60 degrees. (It actually got all the way up to 82 on Tuesday!) Every restaurant that had outside seating available was packed. Side note: Hoboken’s restaurant selection is excellent. While most New York City establishments charge boatloads for wine and alcohol, many Hoboken restaurants are BYOB. This really helps the wallet! Right now, my favorite uptown restaurants in the Boken are: City Bistro, Yeung II Sushi (BYOB), Madison Bar and Grill, and Hudson Tavern.

Before leaving Washington to head to the Hudson River, we picked up a small pizza and some fruit from a local market. Once we got to the river, we sat on the steps that overlook Manhattan. Living in New York City is, hands down, one of the best–if not the best–experiences of my life. (You know, besides falling in love with Mitch. ;)) But when you’re in the fabulous city, you don’t get the fabulous view of it in its entirety. From Hoboken, you can see everything, and make out every iconic building in the city’s skyline. It almost feels like it isn’t real. I also love the warm glow the city has just before the sun sets. Beautiful.

Because it was so warm, I didn’t even bring a jacket to work or around town. Instead, I wore a flowy top I recently scored for five dollars in-store at Old Navy. Five bucks! I originally fell in love with this shirt and this shirt from J.Crew, but decided this one was close enough. (Talk about savings. ;)) I’m very lucky that there isn’t really a dress code where I work. We’re very casual. The outfit I’m wearing in these pictures is actually considered dressy! But then again, I feel like almost everything looks relatively dressy and work-appropriate when paired with heels. ;)
