I’m closing out the month’s projects, and I’m so excited to have a clean slate. WOO, what a stretch. 🙈 While I remained ahead on with blog content—HUGE FEAT! #butreally 😂—I struggled to keep up with partnerships because October was so busy for us, and let’s just say it was a mad dash to the finish line once again. But I made it and I feel really happy about everything. And any sense of accomplishment is good with me this year. ;)

First, I can’t believe that tomorrow is HALLOWEEN. Wasn’t it just March? Funny how a year can feel both slow and fast at the same time. I have to say, though: I feel like I’ve hit my stride with 2020. I’ve learned new ways to find joy, and now that we know a bit more about the virus, I’ve created a small bubble of people to see and safely have fun with. That’s made a world of a difference for the whole family. It goes without saying that I’m incredibly grateful for the time with family, too. (Yes, it’s been stressful, but we’ve had so many wonderfully memorable adventures together that likely wouldn’t have happened because of school and life!) And while my house is a complete disaster during the day, it’s never been easier to clean up the mess after bedtime because everything has a place. That’s obviously a little thing, but it’s been incredibly calming. Control what you can, you know? It’s the little things.

Anyway, I’m gearing up for the big day tomorrow. Emma originally told me that she wanted to be Madeline, and I was thrilled and got both girls Madeline costumes. (I was like, “Dreams do come true!”) But then she changed her mind and told us that she wanted the whole family to go as My Little Ponies. So here we are, haha.

Tonight, though, we’re getting together with Walker’s family to have a little Halloween-themed party for little Lottie, so the girls will get to wear those darn costumes! 😜 This is like the backpack incident all over again!

Okay, I’m rambling! The point of this post was originally to show you a little behind the scenes; shooting with a baby is tough and often times downright hilarious. (Other times, it makes me want to cry. But let’s not focus on that right now, haha!) Mitch snapped a bunch of these photos of me holding Lucy while he was testing lighting, and I ended up loving them more than the ones we tried our hardest on. Go figure! ;) And yes, Mitch took those while holding Lucy. GO MITCH! (And thanks.)

Let’s talk about this outfit, too! I took these photos for an Instagram collaboration I’m doing with J.Jill, and I thought I’d share the photos here as well since the clothing is so nice. Out of all the seasons, fall is my favorite for fashion. I just love the warm tones, abundance of plaids, and the coziness of it all. I mean, doesn’t this outfit scream fall?! I’m in love.

Thoughts on the look:

Plaid Coat: YES. I have a coat problem. I justify it by saying that I live in Chicago, and that it’s basically like having an entire drawer allocated for swimsuits because you live in Florida. 😜 I love the oversized look (though size down), and the dropped shoulders. It’s also falls perfectly. What’s not to love?! Every season, there’s a perfect plaid coat, and this one is definitely it this fall.

Suede Leggings: Aren’t they beautiful?! I will say that I probably need to have them taken in a bit, but WOW. They’re crazy comfortable and so soft—both inside and out. Emma couldn’t stop petting them, haha. I’m very much into the straight leg look right now, too, so I was excited to see some suede pants in that cut! Oh, and let’s talk about the price. Good suede leggings are usually a small fortune. These, however, are only $99! They come in three colors. I recommend going down one size.

Cashmere Tunic Sweater: STUNNING. I actually ended up tucking it into the suede pants for this outfit, but it’s a long sweater, and it’s going to be *perfect* to wear with all my printed leggings. (Gotta cover that butt!) Btw: If you’re looking for fun leggings, try these in the houndstooth and the leopard (size up if you want a more pant-like look), and these in the blackwatch plaid.

Gucci Brixton Loafers: I can’t say enough good things. They’re worth every penny, though I say with certainty I never would have purchased them for myself if I didn’t have this blog. Honestly, though, if I were forced to only wear one pair of loafers for the rest of my life, these would win! So. Comfy. Once walked six miles in New York City in them. Zero pain. I don’t get it!

Suede Tote: It’s on sale and it’s monogrammable. It also fits a ridiculous amount of stuff. Enough said!

I should probably go back over this post and edit before hitting publish but it’s Friday and let’s pretend it’s perfect! 😜 Byeeeeee!
