New Yorkers, how about that monsoon that hit the city’s streets on Monday after work?! Good grief. I, of course, got stuck in it without an umbrella. Luckily, though, Dad came to the rescue. We had a dinner date that night for his birthday, and he rescued me on the street. We waddled out way across three avenues together, and made it inside the restaurant a little less soaked than we would have been. (Well, Dad probably would have fared a bit better without me under his umbrella!)

So, I’m sure you’ve noticed I’m a huge fan of J.Crew’s “Crinkle City Mini” skirts and J.Crew Factory’s “Linen Cotton Mini” skirts. (And my favorite, J.Crew’s “City Mini” in ripstock cotton. Sadly sold out. Another favorite was the “City Mini” in Dublin tartan. Certainly got some use out of that one this past Christmas season!) Goodness. I’m really not sure whether I could make it through the end of the school year in my un-airconditioned classroom without them. They’re cute, comfortable, breezy, and just long enough to be (kind of) appropriate for work. Huzzah!
On a brighter note (ha), I really need to get some color. Let’s hope I catch some rays in Nantucket! (You know. Without significantly upping my chances of skin cancer. Ugh. #vampireprobs)
