Outdoor fiberglass planters: We love our little city parkway, which is the garden space between the sidewalk and street in Chicago. But we do get a lot of canine visitors who have killed many plants and flowers. We found these dog-proof planters on Wayfair, though, and they’re perfect. They look just like cement yet they’re lightweight and easy to maneuver. Pro tip is to line the bottom of them with plastic bottles, which helps with drainage and lowers the cost of soil! Going on four years with the planters and they still look brand new.
If you caught The Best Preppy Wayfair Finds in July, you might be excited for this followup to that blog post! Today I’m sharing some additional Wayfair products—and some repeat offenders that I can’t help but include again—that are sure to have the hearts of those who love classic style.
You really can’t beat Wayfair in terms of its product selection, customer service and fast and free shipping (on everything, 365 days per year). Some orders have shown up on my doorstep in two days! I’ve been a loyal customer from day 1 of shopping the site, and my adoration has only grown stronger over the years. ;)
Anywho, here are some more perfect-for-fall preppy favorites that the Larkin Family owns and loves:
Faux boxwood wreath
This is the BEST faux boxwood wreath. Again, it’s another product that’s been with us for years, and it remains brand new-looking. I know that preserved boxwoods are all the rage, but the green color does tend to run down outdoor doors when they get wet. This one is simply perfect, and looks so real, in my opinion! I attach different ribbons to it depending on the season and holiday.
Note: It goes in and out of stock due to popularity, but this is a fantastic alternative!
Bulletin board
When we redecorated Emma’s room, I fell in love with this feminine bulletin board. It’s now covered in snapshots of her and her friends, as well as awards from school and sports. It’s a great place to collect special things that will one day go in her keepsake box and end-of-year albums we put together. What a beautiful piece!
Faux floral display
This is always my favorite “early fall” piece of decor to pull out. It adds just the right amount of seasonal color to our hallway, which is otherwise very neutral. I can’t get over how realistic both the flowers and water are. I often move it downstairs for dinners when we host friends and family!
Erin Gates bloom rug
Of course, this rug is for year-round use… but I love the texture, warmth and natural feel it brings to this room during the fall. It’s soft under foot, and the few spots I’ve had to clean up have come out easily with a little Folex cleaning solution. I love it so much that I actually have the outdoor version, too!
Glass pumpkin
How cute are these?! I have an older version, but I adore the new one, too. They’re not gaudy or over-the-top; they blend in with the rest of our home decor but certainly bring the seasonal vibe! I’ve also put fairy lights inside them and the girls have just loved that. Halloween magic, for sure!
Greek key frame
One of my favorite frames. It’s a bit of an investment, but one I’ll have forever. (I’ve had it since my NYC days!) And I just love the photo of Emma and Noodle. What cuties.
Scalloped lamp
I know. I included this last time. But it’s my most epic Wayfair find ever, and I couldn’t leave it out, haha. It comes in two different sizes and tons of colors—AND THE PRICE! Can you get over it?! I have one in our bedroom and put a second in our kitchen. I love turning it on as the daylight begins to fade. Feels so cozy!
Woven placemats and striped napkins
These are the placemats and napkins we use the most! They work for every season, and the napkins are so soft. So soft that Lucy and Emma are constantly stealing them to use as doll blankets, haha. I might need to invest in another set…
Triple ball faux boxwoods
Listen. I know I live in Chicago, but I was originally an East Coast gal… and my entire family lives in the south now. ;) I love moving these ultra-preppy faux boxwoods around our home; they’ve been on our front stoop… on our patio… and even indoors. They’re beautiful… and require absolutely zero maintenance!
Do you spy Concroodle? (Concrete Noodle.) Also sometimes referred to as “Stoodle.” (Stoop Noodle.)
Erin Gates scalloped outdoor rug (+ indoor version)
Last but not least, this magical outdoor rug that I just bought for our deck. I’m SO happy with it. Staining our IPE wood deck requires days—if not weeks—of work, but this outdoor rug (which I can hose down and even pressure-wash!) detracts from the fading color. It’s also just so homey. We hosted a little sleepover for Emma’s birthday this past weekend, and at least three girls dropped their cake on it. The IPE would have stained, but the rug? Nope! Came right out with the hose. It’s a magic rug. Erin Gates x Wayfair, I love you.
